I'll just post this OOC as I feel it's an important OOC discussion.
What are some things do you think could be improved in regards to how the fed runs? Any things about UCI that you have your criticisms about? This is a transparent sort of environment, so I'd love to hear your feedback on UCI as a whole.

Sadly, I think what the place needs is time and activity. It's a good layout and the main-site looks boss, it's a bit behind but that's always going to happen.
I love the backstory, and the guys here are the ones I actually like and talk to.
You need a niche to draw people in, do CAWsites still exist? That's what got me started.
An up to date "Wrestling News" board could generate some more traffic too.
Seriously though all I think is wrong with the place is we're looking at the very early stages, give it time. If you build it, they will come.

Yea. IC news needs to be used more.
Coding the show might be cool. But not by any means necessary.
And more segments on the shows (I can't believe I'm saying this!). But we have so many creative people here. We should be building feuds in shows not just rps. Even in Internet birds I don't see many feuds building.

I think there needs to be a balance of straight-narrow-normal professional wrestling mixed with zany, over the top, LOLMeme shit and I think UCI is still trying to find it's balance. When I think about some of the PPV names and shit I still think it comes off more hokey pokey jokey and not serious enough. Even some of the gimmick characters are just memes and jokes but are written with 2k or 3k and are supposed to be taken serious? I don't know.
I don't think we need a title called Rising Stars, it comes off kind of weird and makes it seem like it's a title that can be won during a yearly Tournament between rookies, I know everyone and their mother's feds have US title and IC title and shit but I think there are better names.
I love the backstory and how we're in a warehouse but I think we should go major pretty soon too. I find it hard to believe Omega is gonna slum it in some warehouse in Chicago picking fights with dudes with no wrestling ability or 110 pound women just for a piece of gold he can buy online at a WrestlingCollectables website.. or Amazon.
I think we should have announcers with wrestling/sports names in results. The real names come off as conceited, and the announcing comes off as three guys who just watch wrestling to shit on it like MST3K. Let's come up with some lolSports names and get two announcers and do results for real. I think this will help the direction of results and will be easier for more new people to come in and immediately understand what we're doing rather than reading 3 guys who are so inconsistent because no one really knows what to say for them, or how many times they're going to call out cuss words in a segment. Introduce the new announcers, give them a small backstory and how they interact with each other and the match writers can fit in to get in.
I know the LOLSAMEOLAUTHORITYFIGURE schtick, but in efed the authority figure actually works better. I think we need one guy who is the authority figure, or whatever, start a storyline with mayors and whichever and get the ball going but make things a little more clear as to who the fuck books matches in kayfabe and who is running the company.
That's just my personal taste/two cents. Means all of jack shit to be honest.
I agree 10000000% with Sanchez, all of this is just going to take time which is what I told you too, J-Mac. Once we phase out the RPers who will come and go and we get a true core then UCI will really build going forward.

I don't think the website is all that behind. With the exception of the Mayor news story posted the other day, there's been no new news since Week 1. That's going to be something that the handlers of the fed need to step up on. As I posted in the thread the other day, I'll have to be creative and come up with my own news stories along with the suggestions in the thread.
Over in our previous home, the in-character news board was hopping like crazy. Same with the Internet board. It's honestly not that much busier than the In-Character News board. We brought over about 80%+ of the top talent from the previous place and it seems like here in UCI, people post a roleplay and maybe a tweet and then bounce for the week until the next card goes up.
I don't understand the lack of participation here from the fed's handlers. I know I don't have that much room to speak since I no-showed week 1 and went inactive since. I do plan on returning next show, but it's just frustrating to see the forums move so slow.

Also, I think the restrictions of approval need to be removed from the In-Character News board for a while. I understand why it has restrictions, but I think we just need to kinda wait and see if anything bad happens with that. For all we know, the lack of participation in that board may be because people want their post up immediately and not wait until it needs to be approved. That could be turning people off to the feature.
Down the line, if it becomes a problem such as in other places we've all been, then fine, add the restrictions back.

I always thought a general rule was IC news do t get responded to. It just is there for people to use for or against a character. Internet boards is for back and forth interaction.

Once we phase out the RPers who will come and go and we get a true core then UCI will really build going forward. With Rising Stars, it was the most voted for name for a secondary belt. It can always be talked about though if it sounds goofy to you guys. A lot of the growth and transition from the warehouse to bigger stages will come with the development of the overall fed lore and the whole "Wave" day backstory. If you or anyone else didn't catch that yet, there is a detailed backstory as to why we're in a warehouse in Chicago. With announcers, that can also be subject to change if you guys would like to discuss that. As far as the match writing goes with announcing being inconsistent, that will get better, but will always remain somewhat inconsistent. Even in the old fed, I remember plenty of times where the announcers came off as bipolar and I think that's just a result of there being different match writers. I'm not sure. I do have personal plans to make Spencer more involved in coming weeks and a story that could possibly see him return to in ring action in a big way (Not to be like "I'm the owner AND a competitor cuz I does it all LOL" sort of way, more just as it would make sense in the story to come.) I definitely agree as far as a lot of the awkward stuff goes and knew that this first 4 weeks wouldn't be one of extreme comfort, but rather one where we hold the tourney and kinda get an idea of what people will be doing. Look for July to be the month when shit really starts taking shape. This will also all get a bit more smooth as we bring in new faces. I'm currently going hard on the recruiting grind and believe I have at least one person about to join up as well as many who might in the near future. Feel free to recruit whoever you guys would like.

I'll mention this to Gable and Benjy. This can probably be done. The approval thing was simply to try to promote the protection of kayfabe and malicious 4th wall breaks that kinda just shit on everything. I remember for awhile at the old place, you had basically every IC news and internet post consisting of nothing but reactions where people would absolutely no sell and dump on every post and was something that we wanted to change in the name of positivity.

I am absolutely shocked that you managed to explain the implausibility of Jay Omega without mentioning the words 'cyborg', 'resurrected', 'dancing' or 'space dragon'. Well played, my friend.-B.

My biggest bugbear is the 'back story' of the fed. If I were an outsider looking in at this place and read that I would a) find it 'weird shit lmfao' and b) wonder whether this is an actual wrestling fed or something completely different.
If I looked at this site and then say WCF I would without question join the latter because it's clearly fuckin wrestling and the characters act like wrestlers.
I get its unique and wacky with a great little 'contained universe' but if anything it's restrictive and just a bit...silly.
Make it about wrestling. Promote it as wrestling. Make the characters wrestlers. Everything will come much easier after that.

While we have room to improve, I would like to applaud everyone for the hard work they have done. I have NEVER been in a fed that was this far along and this well run only a month in. Sure we have faults, but we're working very hard on them, and everyone who has contributed should be incredibly proud of themselves.
