So earlier this week I posted a thread called "So, Uh" which questioned how we are going to handle the split. The community consensus has been to keep OOC shittalking to a minimum, especially on the boards. I'm sure I speak for the whole admin team when I say I wholly agree.
Polar, Bonnie, and Omega have recently posted a series of RPs dealing with their characters following this OOC split. This series teases about OOC issues. I don't mind when RPs address the history or even play with the 4th Wall. The fact is that many of us have brought our same characters over and don't want to "reset" their history. We at the Mod team have even been working on a metaplot backstory which will be posted soon; there is something refered to as "The Incident in Mexico" (more on this later) that anyone is free to play with.
That being said, any OOC comments will not be tolerated on the boards. Yes, many of us left with an incredibly sour taste in our mouths. Yes, plenty of shade is being cast on their boards. (not confirmed) No, we will not fire back; let's be the bigger people.
Chat room? Facebook? Private messages? Say whatever you want; not my problem. RPs and IC board? Have fun. Let's keep the OOC boards to good vibes.

The good news is eventually enough we'll all move on from what happened, mostly because things here will be going so damn well that we just don't care about that anymore.

I think we're all mature to handle the transition pretty well. I trust in everyone to do that. So even if they mentioned some issues, they don't mean no harm.

I think it's just what Howie said, we gotta keep this in the right places. I don't think the rp was too out of hand, but let's keep the talk in the right places. Hell, you guys can even PM me if you need to vent. I think we're doing alright on that front so far, but it goes without saying that it's important to stay happy and positive here without throwing OOC shade.

Haven't seen any shade thrown at all on the WCF board myself. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I am purely going off on hearsay on that. I have not personally checked the boards since the split. |

From my perspective, what happened down in México should stay down in México. I think it is fine to use what happened for character development up to a point. That is unavoidable because we all were passionate about the place of old and our characters. The way that Polar, Bonnie, and Jay expressed their own personal experiences was with class and respect. I commend them for it. But with all do respect to this organization and the new people that have joined, it should become a dead issue soon enough. I don't think anyone new or old needs to hear a rehashing of what happened in detail moving forward, they can go to the place of old and see it for themselves. I was there, so I have no inkling to see what's happening there in its aftermath. I just don't care anymore. I won't disrespect the place of old, I've just moved on. Now, I put out a couple of "tweets" on the @handsomehalf-breed twitter account referring to escaping México without going into detail of what went on for my character development purposes. That is far as I will take it in IC and in OOC. I am here because I respect every single one of you and hopefully vise versa?

"The Incident in Mexico" is purely an idea a few of us are spitballing around for the sake of adding some mystery to a few people switching characters to less prominent guys (Me, Flash, Price, etc.) while giving a reason why these characters "disappeared" while leaving a door open for cameo returns. It will NOT be a rehashing of WCF drama. That said, I can't go into crazy detail about this nor will it be definitive canon forced upon anyone. A few of us are working on a special project for UCI which will be a novel (and optional) twist for those who wish to participate; this is a piece of that. Again, I can't go into detail without spoiling anything, but I'm incredibly excited to make an announcement on this within a week or so. |
