The Adventures of Dustin Beaver ep. 8 "Avoiding the No Show"

Saturday July 9th, 5:45 pm
The scene opens with Dustin Beaver laying on his couch in the living room of his lavish home on the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A heavy bruise is clearly visible across his throat, a painful reminder of the strap match he had participated in last Sunday against Wentworth Updegraff Jr. Beavs is tapping away on his phone, apparently playing a game that is not visible to the UCI cameraman that is filming him. Karl the cameraman sits there patiently, but after about 15 minutes of Dustin tapping away on his phone elapses, Karl's patience wears out.
Karl: "Um, Mr. Beaver, I'm ready to film your promo whenever you are ready."
Beaver taps away some more at the phone for a minute before he frustratingly puts it down and glares at Karl.
Dustin Beaver: "Fine, let's do this thing."
Beavs sits up on the couch and stares into the camera. His usual bright white smile is nowhere to be seen as he begins to address the UCI Universe.
DB: "Hey there Beavlievers, your Supreme Beavliever isn't feeling so hot this week after my strap match with Mr. Updegraff this last Sunday."
Dustin reaches up towards the bruise on his neck and he clears his throat before he begins speaking again in a raspy voice.
DB: "Mr. Updegraff may have on the battle, but he is nowhere close to winning the war. With help from all of the Beavlievers across the globe, the Great Beaver will come back stronger than ever and I WILL take back what rightfully belongs to us."
Beaver adjusts his sitting position on the couch, it's obvious that he is in a fair amount of pain as he does so.
DB: "My road to redemption begins this Sunday July 10th at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin when I team with Jay Omega to take on the team of Mayor D. Sanchez and Shadowlove."
Beavs stares down at the game still open on his phone for a moment before he speaks again.
DB: "The truth is that... I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was. To wrestle them is my real test, to beat them is my cause. I will travel across the land, searching far and wide. Each UCI wrestler to understand, the power that's inside...U-C-I! Gotta beat 'em all, it's you and me. I know it's my destiny! UCI, oh, you're not my best friend, in a world I must defend. UCI, gotta beat 'em all, a heart so true. My courage will pull me through. You beat me and I'll beat you, U-C-I, gotta beat 'em all... UCI!"
Karl keeps the camera focused on Dustin after his monologue, an awkward pause is shared between them.
DB: "...Listen, Jay Omega is a former world champion, I have no doubt that he could destroy these two negativity beasts we're facing all by himself. But with Dustin Beaver in his corner on Sunday, there's nothing that can take down the combined powers of Team Omega Beaver. We will be getting our hands raised in victory and the Supreme Beavliever will continue to spread the power of positivity across the world, you can BEAVLIEVE THAT!"
