Sunday June 5th, 7:30 pm
The scene opens with Dustin Beaver getting his hand raised in victory after finally securing his first victory in UCI with a win over the young upstart, Aurora. The positive changes he had made that week ended up paying off and Beavs felt a great weight lifted off his shoulders, as he is now not a ‘defeated’ wrestler. Dustin waives to the crowd for a second before stepping through the ropes and hopping off the apron. He listens to the action of the audience for moment and Beaver is surprised at the mixed reaction he is receiving. Normally, he would expect to hear nothing but a chorus of ‘boos’ raining down on him, unless it was his hardcore Beavlievers out there wanting to make their presence known. But this time, the response he is receiving is a mixed concoction of boos and somewhat awkward sounding cheers, like the UCI Universe didn’t know how to applaud for him. Beavs chuckles to himself about this, it reminds him of the end of his run in the other organization, when he was a member of Team BOA. His partner at the time, Occulo, was over as fuck in a positive way so when they combined their powers with another wrestler, Benjamin Atreyu, who was somewhat of a tweener at the time, it proved for a curious response from the gathering there. Dustin eventually reaches the end of the entrance ramp and goes behind the curtain to go back into the locker area. However before reaching his dressing room, Beaver runs into the same UCI interview duo that he had run into the previous week after his tag team loss. The young female interviewer lets out an exasperated sigh as she locks eyes with the Beavs, making it known that she didn’t think much of being able to get a good discussion out of the Supreme Beavliever based on her prior experience. Several thoughts race through Dustin’s head, including knocking the snobby bitch’s lights out. He shakes his head, no, that was the old Dustin Beaver that would do that. This is the new Beaver; this is the Beaver that does encouraging things and improves his life…and possibly the life of others. Just then a light bulb goes off in Dustin’s brain; he now knows what the next step in the evolution of the Beaver needs to be. The Great Beaver flashes a bright white smile at the interviewer as he walks over to her and the cameraman. The young interviewer has a shocked look on her face; she backs up a little, not knowing what Beavs’ intentions are as he makes his way over.
Dustin Beaver: “Hey there, how’s it going today? Are you looking at getting some words with me on camera?”
The interviewer’s face changes from a look of shock to a look of pure confusion. It is apparent that she has absolutely no idea how to react to this 180 flip the Dustin has made.
Interviewer: “Um…yeah, I mean yes! Yes please, Mr. Beaver, if you have the time of course.”
Beavs stands next to the interviewer, facing the cameraman. He gives the interviewer two enthusiastic thumbs up as she asks if he is ready to go.
Interviewer: “Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I have the distinct…pleasure of being with Dustin Beaver, fresh off his first victory in UCI! How are you feeling right now?”
Dustin grins at the camera and then turns back to the interviewer.
DB: “I’m feeling pretty damn good right now. I needed that first win here in UCI for myself and all of the Beavlievers out there and I got it against a rising star in Aurora. I didn’t mind showing that you can still teach an old dog new tricks!”
The interviewer chuckles a little at the 22 year old Beavs referring to himself as an ‘old dog’.
Interviewer: “Well congratulations Dustin, what do you think is next for you after securing that victory?”
Beaver scratches the back of his head as he thinks for a moment.
DB: “Well last week I made some needed positive changes to my life and it proved to work out nicely. I think I’m going to stay on that track this week and train hard for whatever opponent the UCI brass feels like I would tear the house down with for the Beavlievers and UCI Universe!”
The interviewer smiles and nods, she looks impressed.
Interviewer: “Thank you for your time tonight, Mr. Beaver, and good luck in your match next week at the Pay-per-View!”
Beavs gives her a wink, less creepy than his normal wink, bordering on charming.
DB: “Thanks a lot; I’ll talk to you again soon.”
Dustin then begins the walk back to his dressing room. Upon reaching the room he sits on the bench in front of a wall mirror in the room. Beaver exhales as he stares at his reflection. Beavs was unsure where this positive outlook on life he now had would take him, but after getting his first UCI win, he was ready to take the leap of faith. The only thing that made Dustin feel apprehensive about his new venture was the fact that he was going to have to go on this new journey alone. Back in the old org, he always had his #beachkrew sister and brothers that he could rely on to have his back. This was no longer the case, however, this was Dustin Beaver going out there and not only did he have to beat the opponent in front of him, but he also has to have eyes in the back of his head to watch and make sure no one tries to stab him in the back for whatever reason. He wants to be able to have to only focus on the opponent in front of him each week, but Beavs is unsure of how to make that happen. Dustin also wants someone there that shares his new vision of staying positive and improving lives. He looks at the door to his dressing room in the reflection of the mirror and just like that, an idea hits him. He’s not sure whether his idea will be able to come to fruition, but he decides that there’s no harm in trying. Beaver walks over to his gear bag and pulls his cell phone out. He scrolls through the list of names before stopping on the one that he hopes will solve his dilemma. Dustin hits the green call button and crosses his fingers. After two rings, the other end picks up.
Voice: “Hey Beaver, what’s up?”
DB: “Hey man, so I kind of have this idea going through my head right now and I thought of you.”
Voice: “Ha, well I’m touched. So what’s this idea of yours?”
DB: “Well I’ll lay it all out here for ya, and just let me know what you think…”
Monday June 6th, 9:09 am
Dustin Beaver has been awake for some time and has already prepared for the day ahead of him. As he leaves his Chicago hotel room, he checks the UCI website to see if they have posted the lineup for Lazarus, the upcoming first Pay-per-View for the organization. Beavs is pumped about being able to say that he is on the first ‘big’ show for the startup organization and he wants to get to work on training for whatever match he gets thrown into. He’s happy to see that as per usual, the management is on top of things and has already posted every match. After scanning the names for a second, Dustin spots his and he laughs. He shakes his head and does a little celebratory fist pump, as he can’t Beavlieve that he has received a match that truly excites him. Beaver figures that he must have really impressed the UCI executives, as he has been given a shot at the number one contendership for the Television Title, taking on the young, Kyle Cameron. Dustin knows that he will have to do some research on Cameron to make sure that he knows what the man is capable of, but Beaver’s confidence is at an all-time high. Beavs starts heading to the airport to get back to Toronto, his feet can’t move him fast enough at this point.
Tuesday June 7th, 4:45 pm
Beaver has just finished a full training day at ‘The 6’ Wrestling School and he leans over the rope, pouring sweat. Liam Gagnon, or Gags for those who know him well, stands on the floor outside of the ring, handing Beavs a bottle of water.
Liam Gagnon: “You looked good today, kid. And I didn’t even have to listen to any back talk! Are you feeling ok?”
Dustin takes a big swig out of the bottled water.
DB: “Just feeling good today, boss! I’ve been trying to stay positive about everything lately and I think…I think it’s actually positively affecting my life.”
Gags smirks at Beaver’s statement.
Gags: “What is this?! Is little Dustin Beaver growing up before my very eyes?!”
Beavs looks unamused at Gags’ comment.
DB: “Come on, Gags, don’t bust my balls. I’m serious though, I want to be a more positive person, someone that people look to as a light in dark times. I think that’s what I was missing when I first signed on with UCI. But now that I’ve started down this path, it’s already began to pay dividends.”
Gags nods.
Gags: “You gotta let me bust your balls a little bit, Beavs, but I know what you’re sayin’. And hey, I think that you’ll excel at being someone that people can look up to now that you’ve got a little experience under your belt. Speaking of youthful inexperience, you’re facing that Kyle Cameron this week. He seems like a real piece of work.”
Beaver chuckles as he thinks about his upcoming opponent.
DB: “Ha yeah, he does seem like quite the little douchebag…but no, I can’t think those things anymore. I’m sure he has some positive qualities about him, and in beating him on Sunday, I’ll make him realize that he should bring those to the surface.”
Dustin puts his hand up, motioning with his thumb behind him.
DB: “Speaking of shit talking, did you get a chance to rearrange the former ‘Undersea Lounge’ for me?”
Gags nods again.
Gags: “Yes your highness and I did it while training all of the other students here, so you better be God damn appreciative!”
Beavs laughs.
DB: “You’re too nice to me, Gags! Well I’m gonna head back there now and cut a promo while I have this Cameron kid on the brain.”
Gags points down the hallway leading to the room.
Gags: “Oh and I think your guest is in there watching some old matches on the TV. Hopefully he hasn’t wandered off.”
Beaver wipes sweat out of his eyes before jumping down to the floor from the apron.
DB: “Yeah, I sure hope he’s still in there. Hopefully, he’s not beating the crap out of some poor student behind the building that made the mistake of asking him what he was doing in there.”
Gags snickers.
Gags: “Eh it would be good for them anyways. That guy sure looks like he could hand out a good ass kicking.”
Dustin nods emphatically.
DB: “He sure can, I’ve seen and felt it firsthand. Well I’ll let you know if there are any bodies back there, see you in a bit, boss.”
Gags pats Beaver on the shoulder as he walks away.
Gags: “Good luck, kid. And good work today, I want that same attitude and effort the rest of this week. You have another TV Title shot to earn on Sunday!”
Beavs puts his arm up in acknowledgment of Gags’ words as he heads into the room in ‘The 6’ where Dustin cuts his promos, formerly known as the ‘Undersea Lounge’. Upon entering the room, Beavs immediately sees his guest he invited for today, sitting in the recliner in the middle of the room. Sure enough, an old wrestling match is playing on the TV; Beaver watches the match for a moment and notices it’s a match that his guest had participated in. Dustin laughs to himself before speaking over the top of the commentary.
DB: “Reliving the glory days, brother?!”
His guest spins around in the chair.
: “Some shit like that. Are you finally done training for the day?”
Beavs nods.
DB: “I sure am, want to go wait out in the hallway for a little bit and I’ll give you a signal to come in?”
Beaver’s guest shrugs his huge shoulders.
: “Sure, works for me.”
Dustin’s mountain of a guest makes his way into the hallway as Beaver gets everything in the room set up to record. Once he’s satisfied that everything’s ready to go, Beavs hits the record button and sits in his yellow recliner.
DB: “Hey there Beavlievers and UCI Universe! This is your Supreme Beavliever speaking, let me be the first to welcome you back to my ‘Undersea Lounge’!”
Beaver holds his arms up as he looks around the room.
DB: “I know it looks a little different than the last time you saw it. It’s for sure a lot less…blue and that’s because I’ve adopted a new attitude.”
Beavs points at the camera.
DB: “No longer are we going to be unhappy and mad at the world about everything, like we’re owed something just for existing. As Beavlievers, I want you to go out into the world and reflect an image that earns you everything that you deserve.”
Dustin points at himself.
DB: “I did that last week and you watched me earn my first UCI victory because of this attitude. I’m going to help you guys out even more though right now on remembering how to live just like the Great Beaver does. I call it the ‘Damn! That’s good, Beaver/Ew, that’s nasty, Beaver’ program!”
Beaver points his finger into the air.
DB: “We’ll use my opponent that I’ll face at UCI’s first ever Pay-per-View, Lazarus, live on Sunday June 12th from the Warehouse in Chicago. Kyle Cameron, who I’ll be facing for an upcoming…TV, feels weird to say it like that, title shot is the perfect candidate for my new program.”
Beavs rubs his chin as he thinks for a second.
DB: “You see Mr. Cameron is a young man, with a poor attitude that is the type to call someone a “FUCKIN LOSER” like he did to yours truly on my Internet Board this week.”
Dustin shakes his head back and forth.
DB: “This is when we say “Ew, that’s nasty, Beaver”. This type of brashness is what we look to avoid, Beavlievers. It will get you nothing but a life full of enemies and regrets. An example of this is being grounded by your mom for smoking weed in the house.”
Beaver holds back a laugh, but smiles at the camera.
DB: “Kyle, I’m sure you’re the type of kid that smokes your weed while listening to My Chemical Romance and crying about how you deserve a better life. And don’t’ get me wrong, I get it, I was that young rebellious person myself not too long ago.”
Beavs points his thumb into his chest.
DB: “But you know what that got me? Nothing. It just made me the world’s biggest whiner and complainer when things didn’t go my way.”
Dustin brings his hands together and chops the air in each direction.
DB: “But then I decided that was enough of that. I’m now starting to look at ways to be positive and make it so that I earn everything I deserve. “Damn, that’s good, Beaver” is the mantra I now use, keeping myself in check when making decisions.”
Beaver punches his right fist into his open left hand.
DB: “Now I’m going to bring you down to a low point by beating the tar out of you on Sunday, but after you see the true power of Beavlieving and my new program, you’ll see that there’s more to life than just shit talking people on the internet and recreational drug use.”
Beavs looks away from the camera and waves his hand, appearing to motion to someone off camera.
DB: “Oh and I’m not going to be alone on this journey. When I told a friend of mine about this new way of life I’ve embarked on, he was more than happy to agree to be my manager and make sure that everything runs smoothly as we make the UCI and the world a better place, one opponent at a time.”
The giant of a human, known as Vengeance, with his face painted up in the style he’s known for, lumbers into the room and stands behind the chair Dustin is sitting in. Vengeance remains silent as he folds his massive arms in front of his chest.
DB: “I hope you’re ready for this life changing experience, Mr. Cameron. I can guaran-damn-tee you it’s going to be a physically painful experience for you at Lazarus, but after I beat you down; you’ll be able to rise from it as a better person.”
Dustin flashes the camera his winning smile.
DB: “After securing this TV title shot opportunity on Sunday, I’ll be taking that TV Title from whoever has it and making it so that the Great Beaver and Big Vengeance are able to spread the word of positivity on TVs every single week until we’ve accomplished our mission of making the world a better place.”
Beaver winks.
DB: “And as always, I know I’m going to win because all we have to do is… Beavlieve!”
