Appearance:
Picbase: Marc Methot
In-Ring Attire:
Johnny wears the generic curtain-jerker attire: unadorned black trunks and boots. His hands are taped, and, rather unusually for a pro wrestler, he wears a black mouthpiece that he chews on incessantly during down time.
Gimmick:
Johnny Blackwood is not a wrestler. He has not spent any significant portion of his life training in the art of combat sports. He is, however, no stranger to athletic competition. A former defenseman in the KHL prior to his arrival in the United States (a fact that is not commonly known and that he tries to distance himself from), he finds himself drawn to UCI out of desire for financial gain. This has not gone according to plan, however, as he is currently stuck in a pay-per-appearance agreement with odd, occasional bookings due to his lack of training.
Entrance Description
The sound of a coin entering a slot can be heard, followed by the howl of a wolf before the beginning of Kavinsky's "Nightcall" plays over the speakers. The arena lights don't change, no spotlight comes down to focus on the stage. Johnny Blackwood simply emerges from the back and slowly makes his way down the ramp as the distorted, almost robotic vocals kick in.
I'm giving you a night call to tell you how I feel
He cracks his knuckles as he approaches the steel steps before pausing at the base to crack his neck. He then ascends the steps and steps between the ropes, walking immediately towards his corner.
Full Moveset
Punching, primarily. No, seriously, punching is like 90% of his offense.
Kicking, too.
Knees and elbows as well.
The occasional headbutt.
Stomping a downed opponent.
Only the most basic, wrestling school 101 grapples (Vertical Suplexes, Scoop Slams, DDTs, etc.)
Eye pokes, low blows, and other dirty tricks if the ref isn't looking.
Signature Move:
"The Slew Foot" (Tripping an opponent from behind)
Finishing Move:
"The Blackout" (Sprinting Elbow Smash out of nowhere, normally to the back of an opponent's head)
