The cameras catch up with Apollo as he is bench pressing three hundred pounds. Bobby is spotting him as he nods his head towards the camera.
Apollo: Thirty...take it.
Bobby grabs the bar as he sets it back in place. Apollo sits up and takes a swig from his water bottle as Bobby pats him on the back.
Bobby: I'll give you your moment to shine man...good luck.
Bobby smirks as he walks off and Apollo rolls his eyes.
Apollo: He forgets I'm 'The Great One' for a reason.
Apollo takes another swig before looking at the camera.
Apollo: So I got to give you all a reason as to why I'm a threat in this gauntlet match for the Hypermedia title huh?
Apollo smiles as he stands up and rolls his shoulders.
Apollo: Okay...it's simple I'm 'The Great One'. You see I could go and attack her character and talk about how she's all beat up and maybe returning too early from her Killing Floor match. Let's face it though even at one-hundred percent she couldn't beat a single one of us yet alone all three. You see Bobby may want to get in their first and end it in a one and done but me...I'm willing to bet on a fluke upset after she gets beat around that ring a bit.
Apollo looks around to make sure James and Bobby aren't nearby before he continues.
Apollo: You see the boss man will be a non factor in this thing...sure if he enters that ring he'll slap her around a bit. Show her what a REAL World title caliber fighter can do. But he's going to be looking at the big dogs. You see the boss doesn't care how many times you've been world champion or how long you've held that title. He's out to prove he's the best...not just in Gold Standard but period. You see he was really pissed when your best world champion Kevin Bishop just ignored his challenge.
Apollo smirks a bit.
Apollo: If you ask me though I think Bishop realized he stood no chance and ran off to the tag division to hide from the boss. Now I could be wrong...Kevin could just feel like none of us are in his league, and he'd be a fool to think that. Ever since he ignored the bosses challenge he hasn't been watching tape on little miss L Verez oh no. The boss man has been watching everything he can on Bishop. Not just from UCI but even before he came here and had his rise to become the best World champion this company has had. The boss is a pit bull like that. He asked for Bishop to step up and fight him and was ignored.
Apollo chuckles.
Apollo: Bishop made a mistake doing that. All he did was make the boss laser focused on learning every little thing about him so that he could fight him...and humble him.
Apollo laughed.
Apollo: Of course I'm sure that's an impossible task seeing as that man would never accept that he's been humbled. Now as far as this match goes I'll tell you what will happen when I get in the match. I'll waste no time in hitting her with the Great Spear...and if she somehow survives that she won't be able to get up after the Apollo Bomb. And L Verez when you're laying on the mat beaten and broken you'll know that you nor you little friends the Guardians can stop us. Because we are...the...Gold Standard.
Apollo holds his right fist in the air as his eyes scream the intensity that is inside this man to become a champion.

HELLO! IT’S LIMBO! LIMBO LIMBO LIMBO! I TAKE VIN VIN’S PLACE! I HELP NARRATE! GONNA BE LOTS OF FUN!
Luckily, I am here as well. The superior feline, Marvelous. As always, I’m stuck chaperoning Limbo to make sure he’s not making a mess of anything.

Of course you did… Anywho, L and Wade are currently training Vincent and Zima’Ion before they sign their NBW contracts. Things aren’t looking too great for Vincent, as usual, as he seemed to have landed on his head a bit too hard…
BIG OUCHIES FOR VINNY VIN VINCIWIN!
L is currently checking on him now.
L Verez: Vince, are you ok? Do you remember where you are?
Vincent: Err… yes, we were training. Zima, I think.. Hit me with an inverted hurricanrana, and I landed a bit hard on my head.
L Verez: Okay, so at least it wasn’t too severe. But we’re gonna have to cut this training session short, okay? I don’t want you injuring yourself before you even debut for New Blood.
Vincent: What…? No, we have to keep going.
Wade: L is right, Vince. Live to fight another day. You can’t work yourself too hard. That’s how careers get cut short.
YAY! ZIMA COME TO HELP!
Zima grabs Vincent to help sit him up. Her eyes look quite regretful.
Zima’Ion: I’m really sorry about that, Vin. I should’ve known that move would’ve been too risky for you.
Vincent: It’s not your fault, Zima. I didn’t protect myself well enough. I’m going to take a break for a bit, but I want to keep going later. I can’t be a lazy sod about this. Allen is a workhorse, and if I stop now, I’ll never get to his level. It doesn’t help that he’s my younger brother.
Zima’Ion: Hey! Don’t think just because that bosh’tet got a head start that he’s superior to you! You’re going to get there, Vince. It doesn’t have to be now. He’s not leaving the wrestling industry anytime soon, and you’re still young and healthy. If you try to rush things, it’ll only be worse for yourself. You have to work smart, not hard.
Vincent: Yeah… I guess you’re right. Well, I’m going to go find Polonium, and have him take me to the med bay.
Wade: I’ll take you. Wouldn’t want you passing out on us in the middle of such a large headquarters.
BYE BYE WADE! BYE BYE VIN VIN! OOOOH, MORE SHINIES…
*Sigh*... Why do I agree to do these things? While Wade escorts Vince to the medbay, L and Zima converse a bit.
L Verez: He’s been acting quite different as of late. I’m not used to seeing Vince so emotionally invested in something at this level before.
Zima’Ion: I think he’s gotten it from you, L. That’s partially what got you the Hypermedia Championship, and why you’re so willing to take on three people just to keep that title.
L Verez: Really? You think he’s looked up to me that much?
Zima’Ion: Most definitely. You should see him every time we watch you wrestle or we go on one of our missions. He’s always admired you for your perseverance and drive. He sees how much effort you put into everything that you do, and it’s inspired him a lot. He’s been wanting to gain that drive, and I think Allen’s actions have brought that drive.
L Verez: I can understand that, but he needs to understand that he’s only human. Even though I have my abilities, I have my limitations as well.
Zima’Ion: You know, you say that, and then after only taking one week off, you’re right back in action against three people you have no clue about. I was fine with you returning to defend your title, but you’re going right back to an uphill battle. You never cease to worry me.
L Verez: I’m okay, Zima! I’m healing quite well, and those three don’t stand a chance against me. They’re just like the rest of the newcomers that think they’re all high and mighty, until they get pushed off their pedestal.
Zima’Ion: Now do you see where Vince is getting his attitude from?
L Verez: … Oh, you might be right. But I can’t back out now. The match is already scheduled, and there’s no way that I’m going to act anything like that intruder Corey Black and just not show up, just so I can keep my title.
Zima’Ion: Well, I already knew you wouldn’t dare back out of the match. Even if you were to back out, with how upset Spencer has been, I highly doubt he’d let you go without defending your title. All I’m saying is, as much as I love your never back down attitude, sometimes you go a bit far with it, and that worries me to the ends of space.
WADE MAN COMES BACK!
Wade has returned with L’s panda, Xun. It's currently walking around bleating.
Wade: I convinced him to take a break for the day, though he isn’t exactly happy about it.
L Verez: Thank you Wade! Let’s go see him.

L is walking through the meadow. As the Earth spins on its axis, the sun begins to seem closer to the ground, its light beaming directly towards L and her Hypermedia Title.
So another opponent I see myself facing is simply named “Apollo”. I find his name to be very ironic. One of the things I’ve studied about Earth was its mythology. Greek mythology seemed to be one of the most well known. It just so happens that one of the Greek gods is named Apollo. Apollo… the god of the Sun.
She raises her arms toward the star that brightens the sky.
But Gold Standard’s Apollo differs very much from the greek god Apollo. Apollo isn’t just the god of the Sun. He’s also the god of music, archery, healing, prophecy, as well as many other things. He’s very complex, and extremely vital to the Earth.
Very much unlike you, Apollo of Gold Standard. You’re a mere human. A human that holds no bearing of the future. A human with the relevancy of a grain of salt. A man that spews many claims, but can’t hold up to any of them. Your cockyness is going to be your downfall, along with your adversaries.
I think Spencer just gave me this match because he knows that I haven’t done well in multi-person matches, considering that’s where he always threw me at when I first started here in UCI. What he doesn’t know, however, is how much I’ve improved since the beginning of my UCI tenure. I went from struggling to find my place, and being stuck in the shuffle, to becoming the first female to become UCI Hypermedia Champion. I may seem a bit prideful about this, but that’s due to just how hard I’ve worked to get to this position.
Though it’s poetic how I always remain the underdog. There’s still many that don’t believe in me, and don’t believe that I have the ability to succeed. As always, I must prove them wrong. I must continue to change the way people see me. The never ending story of L Verez. Dealing with the majority doubting me, and trying to make me look like a fool, only to prove them wrong and have them look like the fools.
This will be another case just like that. Many people are going to think that there is no chance that I’ll defeat three people to defend my title. They’ll laugh and say that my reign will be cut short, and say that my victory against Corey Black was a fluke… something that people already say. But when I prove them wrong, and continue to hold this belt high, they’ll realize how wrong they were, and their mouths will be shut. My reign will continue, and I will continue to a fighting champion, as I’ve always promised to be!
L Verez holds her title high, allowing the sun rays to cause the belt to shine bright.
