Discussion has come up on Rising Stars word count limit with a few saying maybe it's a bit too low. Obviously, being the "micro RP" belt, I don't want to see it travel too high, but I'm curious what others think (particularly the competitors in said Rising Stars division) about the current word count limit. Do you want it changed? Kept the same? Let us know.

I voted to keep it at 1000 words. However, I don't think 500 words makes much of a difference. There was something special about HAVING to limit your words to make things count. It became difficult in multi-man matches. It's easy to do 300 CD and 700 shoot on one character, but to limit your shoots to about 300 words per person or less can make it less compelling and you may have to eliminate all sorts of character development in those situations. Some people enjoy writing CD.
On the other hand-doing 1000 words for shoot on one person and 500 for CD might become draining for those not wanting to go that much.
For those of you that know Gemini I used to write at least 12-1500 words of JUST shoot per character in normal situations, and maybe double that in CD. My RPs rarely went under 4K and that wasn't 'hard' necessarily but I found myself saying a lot of things that weren't needed. Trying to build dramatic tension rather than getting to the point. I have no problem meeting UP to the requirements. But there are people that are right in their element in this 1K situation. Cormack for example struggled because his rps were consistently 2K of AMAZING content but often faced off against people writing no less that 3.5K so found himself at a disadvantage. Obliviion and Cheyenne as well in their own rights can fill a thousand word promo with more relevant content than I probably can in a 4 thousand word promo.
It really should be up to people in the division. I can see that the people who voted don't comply to the Rising Stars rules as of now. We need to make sure that People like Umeji, and Cormack, and Oblivion and Cheyenne are involved in this process.

The main reason that I brought up the change to 1500 word count for the Rising Stars division wasn't meant to give anyone an advantage or disadvantage over anyone in that division. Compared to the 3000 word count of the Television Championship, a 1500 word count in the Rising Stars division is still considered "micro" in my opinion.
Say a person writes a basic 1000 word "micro" roleplay, then when color coding, that basic 1000 word count that the person wrote changes to a more higher word count after color coding and editing for aesthetic purposes (according to that little word counter at the bottom of the thread anyways), why should that person be punished for their basic original roleplay by having to edit their work down to comply with the word count after color coding and editing for aesthetic purposes on the roleplay thread?
Take my last roleplay for the Television Championship as an example, that was a basic 3000 word count roleplay when written but when I started editing, color coding and italicing for aesthetic purposes on the roleplay thread that word count went up to around 3014 or so words without editing anything.
I had to cut my word count down to some 2980 words just to reach an exact 3000 word count on the roleplay thread (according to that little word counter anyways) after editing, color coding and italicing for aesthetic purposes. Now those 34 words might not of sounded important, but I felt that it weakened the overall viewpoint that I had for my basic non-color coding for aesthetic purpose roleplay.
I voted because no one vote should be considered over anyone elses in the UCI, since we are all equal in the grand scheme of things in this organization.

I wrote a very compelling response.
But then I never sent it
Basically I said I don't think that coding counts as word count and that everyone's votes count equally but the people who will be affected need to be reached out to in order to ensure their compliance.
