The One with Just the Quotations
(05/29/15)
It's been a busy seven days here in Castle Crow, I was planning on scribing some articles to accompany the meat and potatoes of the show, but they'll have to wait until next week I'm afraid. So tonight, finally...without further ado, and certainly with none of that dilly dally nonsense, here are my personal picks of the week!
"I was nothing but a reminder of one of his mistakes. I was a mistake. He did not plan on having a child in his life ever but one mistake lead to another. Some people will give me sympathy for the life that I was given. Hell even some of them will do the opposite and think that I need to just forget about my past and move on from this memory. Well I don’t expect any sympathy from anyone and I don’t give a shit if anything thinks otherwise, this is for me…and nobody else…”
Asher Bradley - Building Upon Ashes Pt.2
“And now here I am, looking fine and feeling fine except for this constant ache in my left shoulder from that time when I was in my prime of football. That dream went to the wayside and now I have a new job opportunity in Chicago. The UCI came a callin… well, I heard about it because you know, that shit’s not exactly on the up and up. I ain’t going there to become the next Hulk Hogan or nuttin, because that ain’t happening anymore. I’m going to kick some ass. I’m going because I wanna hurt someone and that seems the best way to do it.”
Mr. Wright – Riding Little Red In The Hood
“Overload...kind of fitting, isn't it? Really, and truly, it is. I'm going to give you more than you can handle in the ring, Corey. I'm going to pound your face until the ghost of my past is just an unrecognizable heap on the mat. I will metaphorically cover myself in your blood so that I may never again forget your existence, and you will never forget me. This cosmic bond keeps us together, but my fists and feet will bind us in blood.”
Godnilla - 8R4V3 N3W W0R1D
“Oh Eddie Junior. So perfect and pure and good-hearted and kind. What will happen if you ever wake up? Will your wife still be there for you? Will your father still be alive? Will that house with its white picket fence be foreclosed to pay for your medical bills? Or will you even want to wake up? Perhaps when the light strikes your eyes and they flutter open and your wife sits over you crying with happiness, you’ll turn to the nurse and say “I only want to sleep.” Sleep is good. We’re all so tired.”
Thursday Kerrigan “Blue & Yellow”
“Before anyone decides to get into my face and try to tell me about how I dropped the ball or how I’m not who I say I am, let’s get one thing straight. I’m still Kyle Kemp and I’m still better than you. I was injured on Sunday night and you all know that. Deep down you all know that if I hadn’t tweaked my back I would have not only won the match on Sunday but I would have done it with ease. Injuries are an unfortunate product of our business and the injury bug just happened to bite me. I’m man enough to admit it and I’m man enough to stand here and say that getting into the ring on Sunday was a mistake. I was injured and I should have rested. Plain and simple. The only reason I got into the ring was to defend my turf and you better believe that Chicago is my turf.”
Kyle Kemp - Back Problems and Family Drama.
“I didn't sleep that night. Instead I alternated between performing to no one except myself & the gaping maw at the end of my revolver and watching paid programming in relative pitch-blackness, soaking in the dim glow of the screen, eyes absent-mindedly following the movements of enthusiastic androids pitching everything from blanket-robes to knife sharpeners to mops until the first rays of sunlight poked out over the horizon and pierced through the windows.”
Erin Fausse – Fear and Loathing.
"Boys… understand one thing. I’m not here to be famous. I’m obviously not here for the money. I’m here to prove to the world that I am the greatest wrestler this generation has ever seen. I am a prodigy and a half, a king among ants, a gleaming fucking man god! All UCI could muster up to fight me was a drunk clown with gigantism and Lord Littlebrook’s angry cousin. I’m going to give you one last piece of advice. At some point during our match, you might find yourself with a split second opportunity to take me out. My weakness might show, and you’ll get the slimmest of shots. Don’t hesitate. You’re going to need everything to go absolutely perfectly if you want to stop me from holding that TV title above my head. Good luck gentlemen."
Wentworth Updegraff Jr. - On The Shoulders Of Giants
“Avery: I want you guys to sweep this entire gym and then mop it. I want you to wash the ring aprons too and wipe down the ropes and canvas. You boys better wake the fuck up because this is barely scratching the surface of what we can all achieve, especially you Chase, but you have to know how to harness your talent and be successful. Your shit attitude and listening to jackass over here isn't going to help you. Lock up when you're done and if you can fix your attitude and get back on the path we were on you can come back in the morning.”
Chase Jackson – Chasing The Dream
“The smallest reaction of chemicals and suddenly, the nothing was filled with everything. The first spark on the line of gunpowder that would eventually lead up to the creation of Jay Omega. The Omega Man. Somewhere along this path occurred an event which intertwined your existence with the cosmos. For years later it brought you back. It brought you back from the dead. And whilst we may see that as a power, immeasurable and comprehensible, to the universe and whatever energy it used to bring you back, it was a mere miniscule discharge. A chance event. You got lucky Jay Omega. A mysterious energy brings a dead man back. Fuckin Jon Snow. Sadly for you though, your watch is ended.”
Occulo - The Jikan Lamp.
“But see, I am here, and that's kind of an issue, since if you compare the two of us on paper, it becomes fairly clear that you are "Jay Omega Lite". Experience with alternate realities? Check. Though I can also add time travel, space travel, astral projection, and resurrection to my resume. Well, no, I suppose I can't really, because those aren't exactly transferable skills. Is resurrection even considered a skill? I don't think so.”
Jay Omega – There is no out (R/P 1 of 4)
And my R/P of the Week is...
“It is often speculated why man thinks it fitting for combat and death to be simulated on a grand stage. Wars were not prevented by this, only supplemented. Those who survived the one and returned home had to endure it once more from the spectator’s position. I wish I could say this was a new concept, but instead it is one of the most lasting qualities of this pitiful species who considered themselves supreme. What was once gladiators were now football players. Or boxers. Or even wrestlers. And for what? To give the common fool a chance, a moment, to stand there and hoped blood was spilt their way, stain their clothes but not their existence.”
Yup, It's “Storms” by NVL. A magical, fearful tour de force by a returning past master at conjuring menace.
Okay, that's ya lot for this week, to play us out it's a classic, "Granddaddy" with "AM 180". Goodnight!
