Not looking for feedbackon me. I'm looking for feedback on at the rising stars idea. How did people like your reading 1000 word role-plays. How did people like writing 1000 word Rps.
I thought it was very challenging to keep your thoughts concise but still be thorough. I personally dig it a lot, and being able to read all of what everyone else wrote gives me a better idea of where everyone's coming from instead of skimming a lot on the longer role-plays.
I used speech to text to write this. I am not fixing anything. If it doesn't make sense, deal with it.

I think it works well for some people. I definitely liked some of the RPs that came out of it so far. The condense style of it really differs from some of the more lengthy stuff a lot of the main stays put up. I hope this division goes far!

I for one love it. I've never been a novel writer, even at the best of times. So a shoot with some colour thrown in is right up my alley.

There's art in brevity (and the soul of wit). Developing a character means you'll ultimately want to write more. Starting out, or while learning the craft itself, I think there's plenty of good with the 1k limit.
For new characters, there's always this need to find where they're going. That leads to padding and way too much rambling. 1k consolidates all of that. I enjoyed it for a number of reasons - and I'm sure others found similar benefits.
Major downside: You choose either CD or a classy promo - you don't get to do both. A pastry with no filling whatsoever. That'll be make or break for some people I'm sure. Vignettes aren't as popular as a full story. They lack the depth of an open canvas. Such is the pitfall of this tournament.
In the end, I enjoyed the challenge because it forced me to be critical with every word choice. Short meanssniper precision over buckshot. I feel it has more merits than drawbacks, but most would probably prefer a plump 2k - or more. For those looking to rise high, and early, it probably sounds like a death march. Sticking with brevity will ultimately help develop new characters. That's why I vote to keep it as it.
