SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ OVERLOAD!WARNING!Alright. For those who read Overload, you probably saw that Calvin Harris has vacated the Rising Stars Championship. While this will no doubt serve it's reasons IC, this also reflects a BIG TIME OOC announcement.
Let's face it, time's are changing. Some folks have different ways of enjoying this hobby. So, as the conversation comes up on how to keep things fresh and come up with new ideas, one of our admins presented me with an idea (a tweak to the Rising Stars Championship).
From here on out, The Rising Stars Championship has a new approach. Now, the roleplay rule for Rising Stars matches is 1 RP, but with a strict 1k word count limit!
This is a change we feel has the potential to do great things to help introduce many new faces as well as perhaps giving some old ones something new to work with.
I welcome any pre-existing member interested in this change and perhaps competing under Rising Stars rules from time to time to let us know. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the Rising Stars Championship.

Yeah, I won't be super restrictive on "new". While it's aimed at "new", I'll allow most peeps to compete around this. Obviously, my goal isn't to have some established world champ type come and run train on it, but yeah, that's fine.

1000K sounds like sniper fire: one shot, one kill. Besides, it's all about growing a voice and presence. I love it.

If I could make one suggestion, since the Television Championship word count is a very good 3,000 words, would it not make since that the Rising Stars Championship have half of that count and give them at least a 1,500 word count since they are, after all, rising stars?
It would give a rising star a chance to build their character and run their shoot more equally in their roleplays, instead of one way or the other, and it still gives them that one shot, one kill factor.

I'd consider bumping it if people were overwhelmingly in favor of a word count raise, but the idea behind the 1k limit was to create a micro option (typically 1k and under fedding) for both alumni who can't do bigger count and people following that modern micro fed trend that seems to only be growing. While 1.5 isn't terribly taxing imo (was an original idea I tossed around actually), I want to make it about the small count to really open that lane up for people who can't go over it really. |

I'm down with this idea. Those 500 words would've given me a good opportunity at some shoot against Umeji. |
