Early this morning UCI dot com had a conversation with former Intercontinental Champion, Mikey Carson. In that conversation he revealed that he suffered an injury at Beyond against Andre Holmes. He started off releasing his statement of what pain he felt and where he believed the injury took place.
Despite being in pain, Carson sounded as if he was in good spirits as he did chuckle a little on the phone when releasing his statement. He wanted to inform everyone exactly what the injury was.
Sounded as if the injury was pretty serious. Anytime the term “tear” is used to describe a part of someone’s body. Specifically to describe a muscle it doesn’t sound very good. Carson proceeded to inform everyone over the phone that it indeed was as bad as it sounded.
Over the phone the young man sounded pretty somber and almost depressed over needing to take time off. However in making that announcement Carson vowed to keep a promise that he was not only making to himself but to all of those people that supported him.
“Well following that brutal match with Andre. I felt nothing but a sharp pain shooting from the back of my shoulder blade to the front where my pectoral muscle. Honestly, I thought that it had a lot to do with the physically out of the match. Figured that after a cold shower, some ice, and a few days of resting that I’d be heading back to feeling like my old self. Course, that has not been the case. Thinking back to that night I am pretty sure I know where that injury took place. I remember setting Andre up for “Finish Him” and felt a small pop in my arm when I attempted to lift him. Pushed it in the back of my mind, because it’s wrestling. Things like that happen all the time. I didn’t think anything was going to come out of it. Boy was I wrong.”

“The pain seemed to increase over the course of a couple of days and then this morning I woke up with what looked like a giant ass bruise all across my pectoral muscle. Not to mention I could barely move my arm. I knew right then that sure enough something was wrong. Thanks to my girlfriend I was able to be driven to the hospital and found out that I have a serious pectoral tear. They described it as a Grade 3. One of the worst tears there is to this muscle. It probably would have been smarter on my behalf to have gone to the doctor the night it happened or even the next morning, but I have always tried to tough things out. This is one of those times where that couldn’t happen.”

“And of course the question is what does that mean? Well, taking the time to discuss all my option. It was decided that the best course of action was to take part in the surgery. With the muscle hanging all the way off the bone where it’s meant to be attached. There isn’t any physical therapy or medication that can truly fix that. Surgery has to be done first, then go from there. I have been scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning at ten am. They’re going to reattach the muscle to give me full mobilization of my arm again. However from what I’m being told the recovery time for this injury and the recovery time for such a surgery is anywhere from five to six months. Meaning that I don’t have a choice at all. For the time being I am going to need to take some time off from United Championship Infinite.”

“I’ve been told that I’ll have my job when the surgery is over and when I recover, which is great. I on the other hand absolutely refuse to accept that I am going to have to go a half a year maybe longer out of the ring. No, that’s not okay with me. I am vowing that somehow someway I’ll be back in three months time. I’m going to get this surgery and the very next day, I am going to find someway to begin some form of physical therapy. From there every day, seven days a week. I’ll be doing everything I can to get back in the ring where I belong. Sooner rather than later I will be back in a UCI ring and when I do come back. I’m going right back after what I lost. Can’t wait to see you all then!”
