He has shown time and time again that he is loyal and eager to get better. From his first 3K word RP “From Shadow with Love” he established himself as a solid writer with creative ideas and established Shadowlove as not just another pretty face. He found himself in the unenviable position to be in a match against 3 of the most established people to step into the fed and found himself coming out on the losing end of Round One of the World Title tournament.
But this didn’t stop him as on the Gold Rush Edition of Overload he got a Title Match against Kevin Bishop on 2-3-17. He came out again on the losing side of that but as if nearly a year of success his showing at that show put him on most people’s radar as one of the few deserving members to truly be called main event. This week at Beyond he has a match against NegaSoniK and ZMAC for the Hypermedia Championships and certainly goes in the underdog. However, his work this week on those boards makes it anybody’s game.
So without further ado… allow me to introduce… SHADOWLOVE
BTI: First let me know a little bit about yourself. Who are you, what do you do, likes, dislikes. Pretend that you’re trying to win a date with me, but you also are looking for a serious relationship so tell me as much as you would tell someone on a first date. For the record, I look awfully sexy tonight in my short black dress.
Shadowlove :If you read the introduce yourself page, I'm Keith, I'm not an alcoholic. Don’t smoke or drink as much as I did in you pre-drinking age and I was in my twenties. Not that I'm condoning that except for medicinal purposes ONLY. Did my twelve year stint in high school. Skipped college, paroled myself from schooling to enjoy that sex, drugs, and rock and roll lifestyle.
Me and my cousin hopped on a Greyhound bus with just a couple of travel bags and the money we had in our pockets after high school to live that Kwai Chang Caine lifestyle but that lifestyle only made it all the to Reno, Nevada.
Went broke.
Had to get a haircut and a real job working odd jobs, mostly construction. Missed the sun, surf, and surfer-babes so I went back home to California, now I'm a shipping manager for a retail store, go figure. lol
And yes, NBC’s Superstore T.V. show could be reality t.v. lol
Never found the right woman to marry, or had a father point a shotgun at me. No kids, well none that I know about anyways.
BTI: Fuck, Man. When I was younger I thought that all I could amount to was buying a van, buying a fucking pound of weed, and taking my guitar on the road. The plan was to drive to a city where I would serve tables or bartend while finding a drug dealer and open mics to jam at and when I made enough money to move on just to do that. Never making connections or forging relationships, just being a filthy vagrant. What was your plan when you hit the road. What it that Kwai Chang Caine lifestyle you so eloquently described before?
SL: Nothing too eloquently planned out. It was just sort of enjoying life and freedom and independence of being on your own for the first time without any parental guidance or control and traveling from place to place seeing the country. You know, you just kind of think off the fly when you're 18, you really don't use common sense and think things through or plan things out like you do when you're older. Sometimes, you just gotta for it.
BTI: Now let’s talk wrestling. You obviously wouldn’t be writing in a creative wrestling writing environment unless you had at least some passion for wrestling. What is your experience with the sport of kings? How did you get into it, who is your favorite of all time etc…
SL: I was more into Roller Derby back in the day, just look up Raquel Welch in the movie Kansas City Bomber, or look up Los Angeles Thunderbirds (L.A. T-Birds), and Ronnie “Psycho” Rains.
Fuck, I've just aged myself. Lol
BTI: The New York team (The NY Hitmen I think) was my jam back when roller derby was on TV. It was so violent, and I was so hooked on wrestling/disillusioned that I couldn’t tell if it was scripted or not. They still have the Lady Hitmen over here. I want to go see it. But what about the TRUE sport of kings?
SL: Watching Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka vs Bob Backlund steel cage match in the early *cough, cough* eighties. Even though Snuka didn't land the Flying Cross Body, just look how far he flew, I was hooked ever since.
Almost getting hit by a cerveza, I believe it was that Méxican Beer, Budweiser, congratulating “Rowdy” Roddy Piper after getting a disqualification loss over Rocky Johnson, The Rock's dad, in a live event in San Diego. It was a regular match that turned hardcore, Piper put The Rock's dad through a table and tried to gouge his eye out with a jagged piece of the table. There was blood, there was cops, there was Piper being cuffed by the cops just so that he could make it out of through the crowd alive. Man, that was wrestling.
Meeting The Four Horsemen (Flair, Tully, AA, and Windham), Dusty Rhodes, Nikita Koloff, The Road Warriors, Sting, Lex Lugar, among others at the Los Angeles Forum, former home of The Lakers, in the Forum Club. back in the day. But seeing Nancy Sullivan as Fallen Angel live, R.I.P., while getting an autograph from Kevin Sullivan for a little kid was, I must say, easy on the eyes.
My favorite, beyond any shadow of a doubt, sorry, pun intended, I couldn't pass that up, was, still, and forever will be “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.
BTI: Yea man. I'm sure many would agree with youThat was the golden age. I’m a little bit younger than that, grew up in the 90s, but I have very vivid recollections of watching old VHS tapes that I found in the cabinet with all of those guys and thensome. Finally to efedding. Without talking about Shadowlove specifically yet, tell me about your experience in efedding. How did you start, why did you start, where did you start, where have you gone? Anything and everything you want to tell me without going into specifics about your current character.
SL: I started around ‘95, when hoping you hear the sound of your phone modem finds a signal before your RP deadline. Shadowlove was going to be my original character but I saw how people were screwing up the “Hollywood” gimmick, by relying way too much of the Ric Flair persona. So I came up with The Hollywood Blonde. My goal was to show how the way to use the Flair gimmick without being “Nature Boy” Buddy Landel. I defeated every Hollywood character that I came across. Retired The Hollywood Blonde character in 1997.
BTI: Hollywood Blond… Steve Austin mark? Actually I think he and Pillman were a recreation of the Hollywood Blondes, right?
SL: Hollywood Blond(e). I added the E to Blond because I thought "The Hollywood Blonde" looked better on paper than just "The Hollywood Blond", and when I spelled it Blonde, that irritated the hell out of people. They would always critique the spelling, but that was just meaningless nonsense to me, so I just ignored it.
Every little thing that you can add to your character can have a psychological effect on the way some people perceive your character and throw them off their game.
I wasn't really a Steve Austin mark, per say, at the time, he wasn't "The Rattlesnake" then. I liked Pillman more, because Pillman was Pillman and had that Pillman unpredictability. When they were the Hollywood Blonds, the WCW didn't know the talent that these two were, ironically, sort of like when a "shadowy" figure was in a second-rate organization at the time. *wink, wink*
Amazingly, the name Shadowlove has that same psychological effect on people like the way The Hollywood Blonde did, they just see that "shadowy" name alone and lose their motherfucking minds and just want to kill that son-of-a-bitch.
I just sit back and laugh.
BTI: I hate him and you now for that story. JK. How/why did you get back in?
SL: I wasn’t really looking to try this craziness again, until I broke my ankle in two spots and had to have surgery. Between rehabilitation and reading books, watching television, I decided to return to the sports entertainment business to see if I could do it again. And “The Handsome Half-breed” Shadowlove was born again.
BTI: Now tell me about Shadowlove. What is the inspiration to him and Miss Miyamoto? Personally I think he’s grossly underrated even thought you’ve had some success here.
SL: What I wanted to do with Shadowlove, and that's Ms. Miyamoto, was change the landscape of how people perceive the professional wrestler-slash-professional model and the bodyguard-slash-valet-manager for example. I felt no one was using a manager the right way, they were used mostly as supporting characters or just eye-candy.
I was looking for Miyamoto to be just as equal, or even more dominant of a character, to Shadowlove. I wanted her character to not only influence and manipulate the outcome of a match but influence and manipulate Shadowlove's opponents by actually being active in the match and not just being some eye-candy ringside.
It's up to the reader to decide for themselves, If I pulled that off?
Bonnie and Kevin were the first two to understand what I was going for. To quote, Little Kev, in the ego stroking post,
Kevin Bishop once said...
“Shadowlove- Dude, your ability to paint a picture with your description is amazing and i think you have the perfect dynamix with your manager character and Shadow. When facing off with you for my title, i had to pull out all the stops because i knew what you were capable of and you have a skill of shoot/trolling that isnt matched easily. I think it was the picture of piper and hogan that truly made your character click for me... You are indeed the piper of UCI and that sir isn't a knock at all. Your tongue is your weapon and you have a way of pushing buttons that can easily fluster someone to where they're not sure how to approach you.”

BTI: Where do you see him going, IC in the fed and in his story (without spoiling anything for the reader.)
SL: Going straight to hell as your favorite and most polarizing modern day charismatic and charming, egotistical, narcissistic, politically incorrect, felicitating, self-righteous, second-generation megalomaniac and apex predator in sports entertainment History.
The Shadowlove/Miyamoto back story is as complexing and perplexing to me as it is to everyone else in the UCI. I just don't want to give the readers here a ho-hum back story, everyone in the UCI deserves a back story that knocks your socks off without Shadowlove flashing you his tighty-whities.
Don’t worry ‘dre, flushing out more character development is my ultimate goal.
BTI: Let’s talk UCI: How does this place compare to other places you’ve efedded?
SL: Let's see, for someone that started in the dark ages of fantasy wrestling, the UCI is a step-up from that. But in all seriousness, I guess that I better discuss the albatross in the room the WCF. When I was looking to come back to efedding, I was looking for the best organization to challenge me mentally. I was looking for the best of the vest, and the talent in the WCF at the time was just that. Early on, I said to myself, “What the fuck did I get myself into?”
That wasn't about the “Incident” that brought most of us here, the role playing was the fucking best that I have ever seen. Amazing Characters. I felt like I was out of my league but I never worried about wins and losses, the strength of competition was what drew me there.
Then the “Incident” happened, and now I am here in the United Championship Infinite. I was going to just retire after the WCF folded for two days. But I liked Spencer, Benji, and Gable as writers, so I decided to give it another shot after they talked me into it. I was still finding my bearings as a character but I think they saw my talent, so I was one of the first to join.
But I wouldn't have joined if Andre Holmes and Bonnie Blue wasn't in the mix.
And yes, the talent level here has rivaled that in the WCF. That is credit to management and the great creative talent that has come and gone since the UCI opened. No one thought it would even last, much less, be going on year two with many years to come.
BTI: How would you improve on UCI?
SL: The food court. Have you seen the stuff they serve backstage? lol
Overload and Pay-Per-View’s coming out on time, this isn't the dub fellas. lol
Just kidding, people have lives, and I’m cool with a day or two, and the match writers that write matches kick ass. I know, I've written two matches, and I’m not all that great.
But when the card is late, the roleplay deadline should move up an extra day the following week to let people have more time.
More activity on the fake Internet boards, this is a great place for someone to start a feud and help character development. Just ask Little Kev about that troll Shadowlove? lol
BTI: Who do you want to feud with?
SL: Well, the best feuds to me come naturally, i.e., Shadowlove vs Kevin Bishop, The Guardians vs The Brotherhood. I don't know how storylined Holmes/Mallory was, but that was an amazing feud. Shadow and Bishop, could go on forever, that is how much our characters click without storylining. Outside Shadowlove and Bishop, off the top of my head, Bonnie and Casey will be huge.
But anyways, to answer your question,
In the UCI, Shadowlove vs Andre Holmes.
We've had our moments. We've had some heat build up off and on but cool off just as quick because we were in different feuds with different people at the time. Our paths have crossed paths a few times in matches but we never had a chance have that one on one match. This feud just has to come naturally for me to make it happen.
But time will tell.
And there are a few in a second-rate organization, of course. lol
BTI: Besides yourself, obviously, who is the next person you think that will be the World Champ?
SL: Bonnie Blue. She is way over due. Casey Holliday. She is ready for a run too. No pressure ladies. lol
BTI: Bonnie is the bomb.
SL: Erin Fausse just needs to be more active. No pressure Dudette lol
BTI: I'm pretty sure he's a dude OOC.
SL: I really miss Celeste Mallory.
And someone has to drop the belt to Hajeet damnit!
BTI: Final Thoughts.
SL: Umm, “Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered.”
BTI: Visionary, eclectic millionaire, idiot savant, animal rights activist, half Jamaican/ half North Korean; all of these words can be used to either accurately or inaccurately describe the man behind Shadowlove but one thing you certainly can't use too describe him is unworthy. He was more than worthy of that Title Shot he earned at Kevin Bishop, and he's more than worthy of being in a featured match at Beyond. And most importantly he was worthy of being the first guest on MY show. Shadowlove is one of the few OGs remaining in the fed, and I for one hope he's here long after I go. There's only success in the future for this man... only success.
