what makes him special? Maybe the fact that he took a risk and started TNA.
But besides that, he's good but not great. He can main event a show, but he's not THE main eventer. He can be world champion, but not the dominant world champion everyone comes to see. Basically he's a solid hand, but not one of the all time greats
