So, the idea of possibly adding one more championship to UCI is a topic that's been passed around for months and I think it's time that we bring that around soon.
The belt I personally have in mind is one to push the alternative formats and approaches to efedding. We've all seen internet and 24/7 type belts, but there's also video, micro RP formats, and many more approaches to this hobby that have grown and added to the hobby. So I think it's time we do this thing.
My current idea is this:
- A championship that is judged on a day by day basis over an odd amount of days (likely 5, Tuesday-Saturday) with each round/day counting for a point in the overall judging. Best of 5 would be what I'd see determining a winner.
- This would likely be a title with matches held on it's own sub board.
- Potentially, each round could also be structured with a different theme for each day if involved participants were to be down with said structure. (Memes one day, hand drawn pictures the next, 500 word limit micro RPs with no limit on total number of RPs the next, etc.) Of course, if no structure was in place, these alternative methods would still be highly encouraged.
- The goal here would be to really push creativity and embrace the sort of thinking outside the box approaches to efedding.
Realistically, this could be something we could crown an inaugural champ for at Beyond or shortly after. Feel free to share thoughts below and ideas below as well!
