Hey Everyone!
Upon the creation of UCI, we have wanted to provide an e-fedding experience which is both fun and competitive while simultaneously novel and collaborative. Since our days back in WCF, some of you may have noticed that one of the big goals of #BeachKrew and several other affiliated writers was to create an expansive, multi-faceted story and lore which would serve as a basis and pattern for future stories. Of course, this was the tip of our ambition; why not go bigger? There was a lot of talk behind the scenes: interest in overlap with other factions and writers to incorporate their lore into ours for a fed-wide story. Long story short, it never quite panned out before everything sort of collapsed. Of course, we're in a new fed with new opportunities.
If there is a complaint I've personal had with traditional e-fedding, it's that more often than not the e-fed and its wrestlers seem to operate in isolated spheres outside of the show itself. Sure, your character may have this wonderful world of characters and problems which he/she interacts with, but what scale can it be if it doesn't have some consequence on Wrestler B? Or on the company? Consequently, federation-pitched storylines often felt like window dressing for competition: a tournament or a big gimmick match. Yes, there may be some drama in segments or a dastardly villain trying to rig a tournament to his/her favor, but at it's basis, this could be completely discarded to see a bread-and-butter tournament. There was no real story, only one the characters forcibly projected onto it and could be freely discarded.
But what if it didn't need to be that way? What if there was alternatives to stark competition and the potential to coordinate grand-scale stories in which those who participated could actively shape the direction of the federation moving forward? What if antagonists weren't just antagonists in isolated feuds but overarching threats which united people or drew battle lines? What if your story wasn't just your story but could be the fed's story?
This all being said, I'm incredibly excited to announce the formation of the UCI Creative Team!
The objective of the UCI Creative Team is simple: to design and implement optional events and storylines which would allow those who wish to participate a chance to alter the metaplot of the federation itself while accruing glory and legacy. These special events can also serve as an alternative to those who are growing burnt out on pure competition and wish to be involved in a more story-driven and collaborative approach to UCI. Events will be planned in advance by Creative and started sporadically throughout the year during periods in which several pay per views lack "gimmicks". Ideally, these events will give players a chance to shake up their own stories and characters and provide fresh idea or direction.
These events will vary in size, scale, and objective. Perhaps some may be investigative, offering RPers the chance to collaborate to complete objectives within their RPs and gain clues towards unlocking a mystery. Perhaps they will provide a setting for writers to struggle against an entity which threatens the federation itself. Perhaps the event will simply provide a setting in which allegiances and rivalries will be questioned, having ramifications within how the community interacts. The possibilities are really endless.
I was specifically inspired to pitch this idea to our three co-owners after a discussion with a friend of mine who plays a card game called Legend of the Five Rings. Specifically, at conventions the players of this card game have the ability to alter the metaplot of the card game itself through their battles. Beyond that, I've drawn inspiration from the MMORPGs I used to play and how in-game events would alter the dynamic of the roleplaying community. That being said, I can assure anyone not interested that anyone who does not wish to participate will have their story altered, tampered with, or nullified by the consequences of these events. While Crow wrote up the backstory which will serve as the "jumping off point" of these arcs, they are absolutely not "Word of God". No one will be judged any differently by their willingness or refusal to acknowledge the metaplot outside of those who actively volunteer to participate.

This is an idea in an embryonic phase, and all community input is appreciated. I welcome this thread to become an "Ask Me Anything" about the details or ideas, as I admittedly have this idea far more hammered out in my head (and believe that will show through demonstration) than I could coherently type up in anything less than several pages.
That being said, I've gathered my absolute "dream team" to help in this project, so without further adieu, I'd like to announce the line-up of the UCI Creative Team: Polar Phantasm, Bonnie Blue, Zombie McMorris, Crow McMorris, Dune, and Diavolo! Can't wait to work with all of you and see what we can come up with!
