Some may have noticed Watch the Throne round 1 matches listed. I've mentioned a few times, but for those who don't know, this is UCI's King of the Ring sort of tourney. Round 1 this week (January 2nd show), Round 2 (January 9th show), and finals at the PPV as the main event. Not only does the winner become the inaugural Watch the Throne winner and the bragging rights that come along with it, but the winner of this short tourney also faces the world champion at February's big PPV. This is one of the first steps on the road to UCI's biggest annual show known as Beyond. The general idea going forward is this.
-Watch the Throne tourney finals close out the Watch the Throne PPV the last week of January with the winner facing the world champ at February's PPV.
-February's PPV is known as Infinity. This will consist of two matches, a world title bout and a royal rumble type match with knockout and submission based eliminations. World title match is first and the Infinity match closes. This signature match will be a sort of extreme, no rules battle royal type match with everyone who isn't in the world title match competing against one another. The winner of the Infinity match and the winner of the world title match will cement their place in the main event of the biggest PPV in UCI history.
-Beyond closes out this sort of event, gimmick based PPVs with a bang. We get a major main event guaranteed, dream matchups, major feuds happening, and UCI's own twist on a Money in the Bank type match.
