The e-fed landscape is changing. Some burnout and some general change in preference and how people play this game has me thinking. So, the TV title to this point has been a strict 3k limit deal. With many having busier lives and also transitioning to micro or bi-weekly formats, what do you guys think about dropping that word limit even lower? The idea would be to transform the TV title into a full fledged division where we could even have non-title matches under the word limit for those who favor a lighter count. Vote in the poll above and tell me what you think.

I like it the way it is.. but take my opinion with a grain of salt since I favor writing longer rps anyways.

I disagree with the belt going under 2k. I think anything lower than that would turn it into a trash talk belt because if I was competing for it, I'd have a hard time including any character development in the promo other than a throwaway scene just to have character development in there at all. As someone in the last few years of my e-wrestling career who always had little time to cut promos and wasn't able to do these huge 5-10k promos that some of the higher ups in the fed do, 3K usually was about what I was able to consistently put out each week so I feel that 3K is a good standard for a TV title.

Agreed. Me and Omar were in an e-fed that ran under the guise that it was a wrestling school that hosted matches. I believe the limit for that place was 2k. Both of us are used to writing longer rps in other feds we have been/are in, it took an adjustment to fit CD + shoot into a 2k format. 3k is a fair amount. From my experience, unless its a multi person match of some kind, the most I'd go on a shoot is 2k. Mines typically fall between 1 and 1.5k with my CD taking up the bulk of my work. Find CD writing more fulfilling most of the time. Writing a solid shoot is an art in and of itself & I usually have to think to make sure I like it. If I was ever in the TV Championship conversation, having a 3k limit works. 2k? Nah, it would be a tough squeeze to fit some semblance of character development in.

I honestly feel that with the current writing style of most of the federation, that even 3k can be kind of constricting.
Plus remember also that it's intended to be a maximum, I rarely see people pinging the needle even with the option to do so.
We have a tendency to include lavish scenery description and character feelings, so I can understand how some people might have trouble with the limit as-is, although the argument would then be that if they are having a hard time with the word limits, they probably don't need to be competing for the Television Title.
I do like the idea moving forward of division building, not necessarily going so far as gimmick belts of course, but more that we kind of separate people out so they have a variety of writing styles to choose from. If they feel like writing shorter form prose, then the Television division is the best choice. If they want to really challenge themselves, then the intercontinental or World title might be more for them.
I could see it giving writers options rather than feeling like the only way they can write is long-form prose. That has its place of course, but I don't think it should necessarily dominate all other forms of writing.

I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said, honestly, but I just wanted to say that the 3k limit is just about perfect.
I was in a fed one time with a gimmick belt where the word limit was something like 750 per RP (but unlimited rp's throughout the week)... it was weird, but kinda fun. Ended up going over the limit more often than not, though, so a 3k limit seems much more generous by comparison...

We could keep the 3k limit, but emphasize that there is no obligation to be up there, that 1k RPs are treated equally in the TV division.
Just a thought

I have been in microfeds with 750 word limits and feds with no limits. My writing style has never really changed, just changed what I wrote in a rp in terms of off and on camera. Personally, I was never good for anything past 2k. I have always been that to the point promo kind of a guy, but I get that from my independent wrestling days.

I like the idea of it being a fully fledged division and is definitely something I'd want to be involved in if I ever came back.
