Sunday August 14th, 8:47 pm
The scene opens with Dustin Beaver and Wade Moor walking down the entrance ramp towards the back after their tag team victory over Julian Mercury and the nowhere to be found, Erin Fausse. To the crowd, the pair seems happy with their win, but inside Beavs is not happy with the way the end of the match went down. The brutality, the viciousness with the way the Leviathan dismantled Mercury after getting tagged in disturbed Dustin. That was not the way he handled business anymore, once upon a time maybe, but not with what he preached to his Beavlievers today. As nervous as it makes him, Beaver knows he is going to have to discuss the match with Godnilla. The two quickly and quietly make their way into their locker room, and after an awkward minute of silence, Beavs opens his mouth first.
Dustin Beaver: "Bro seriously, what the hell was up with the end of that match? Why were you trying to kill Mercury?"
Even though Wade stares into his eyes, Dustin feels like Moor is staring right through him.
Wade Moor: "I was just..."
The Leviathan pauses for a moment, like he's not sure of what to say. This is a display Beaver has never seen before, he can sense that Wade is struggling internally.
WM: "I was just doing what I know how to do. I saw Mercury...and I wanted to just fucking rip his limbs right off his body and beat him with 'em. It was like... it was like something I felt that I had to do."
Beavs watches Moor as he speaks. Dustin can't help but feel bad for his older brother. Even as Godnilla speaks, Beaver can see right through the words. He can sense that Wade, deep down in his heart, wishes he knew another way to wrestle, another way to win. But Beavs also knows that this is the only way of life the Leviathan knows. His whole life has been pain and violence, Dustin can't expect him to be able to change that in a day. Beaver walks over and sits down next to Moor, placing his hand on the bearded man's shoulder.
DB: "Look bruh, I know this shit is tough. Hell when I decided that I was done with the whole crazy lifestyle and fan hating, I wasn't quite sure what to do. You weren't here, none of #beachkrew was here to help guide me, it was just me, just Beaver."
Dustin stares straight ahead as he recalls his early UCI life.
DB: "But one day, man...one day it just all clicked. I was tired of seeing people getting stepped on by assholes that thought they were better than everyone. It was time for me to be a man, to take a stand against all this negativity you see in the news and just in everyday life in general."
Beavs turns to face Wade, looking him in the eyes once again.
DB: "And bro, everything just started making sense after that. I was a better wrestler, picking up wins left and right. But not just that... I was a better man. I feel like I'm making real, positive changes in people's lives. I mean, I'm not just telling people to do all of these good things, I'm doing them myself as well and it feels fucking good, man! It feels like I can do anything when I keep accomplishing all of these goals and I can hear the Beavlievers, not just cheering me on, but see them joining me in these efforts. I'm obviously making a difference when even the legendary Wade Moor is ready to come back to wrestling when he sees what I'm doing!"
Dustin firmly pats Godnilla on the shoulder.
DB: "I know you're not going to be able to change who you are in a day, brother. Shit, no one can do that. All I ask of you Wade..."
Beaver grabs the big man's shoulder tightly.
DB: "All I ask of you is that you try. You try to think of your actions before you make them. You try to decide for yourself between what's right and what's wrong. Don't worry, you won't be alone. I'm going to be with you every step of the way to try to help steer you in the right direction. But ultimately, my nilla, it's going to be on you to become that good person that I know you can be."
Wade looks right back at Beavs and begins to laugh. Dustin gets a puzzled look on his face as he tries to figure out what is going on.
DB: "What the hell are you laughing at, you crazy bastard?!"
Moor wipes sweat from his brow as he composes himself.
WM: "Oh dear Dusty, just laughing at how much things have changed. I mean, look at yourself. Look at the confidence, look at the sense of self assurance you have. It's like you've grown up right in front of my eyes!"
Beaver looks slightly annoyed by the Leviathan's reaction to his big motivational speech, but Wade continues.
WM: "But your message is loud and clear. You're right, I need to be the one to make the change. I will do it, eventually, I promise you that."
Beavs gives his brother a single nod, now happy with Godnilla's response. Just as Dustin stands up from his spot next to Wade, Moor holds up a finger.
WM: "There is one thing I need from you this week to continue this journey."
Beaver's curiosity is piqued.
DB: "Sure man, what is it?"
The Leviathan turns his head to look at Beavs once again.
WM: "I need to meet your parents."
Dustin stands there dumbfounded for a moment.
DB: "My parents?! Why in the world would you want to meet them?!"
Wade smiles.
WM: "I want to know where you come from, Dusty. I want to meet the people who helped shaped who you are today. You know my past all too well after this last week, now it's my turn to get a glimpse into your life."
Beaver stands in silence again. His parents. Beavs hasn't thought about his parents in QUITE awhile. Dustin was hoping to not have to deal with them again anytime soon, but he knows that if this is what it takes to get Godnilla to stick to the righteous path, then that's what was going to have to happen.
DB: "Alright, my parents...we'll leave for Canada tomorrow morning."
Wade chuckles.
WM: "Good."
Monday August 15th, 3:16 pm
Dustin and Wade had arrived in Toronto in the early afternoon and after taking some time to get a bite to eat and drop their things off at the Beaver Compound, they head off to Beavs' parent's house. Dustin grips the wheel of the black Escalade tightly as they cruise down the highway. He's not sure of how this encounter with Moor and his parents will go but he doesn't have high hopes for the situation.
DB: "Look man, it's not too late to turn around. We can go back to my crib, just chill out and wait for the text to see who our opponents are for next week."
The Leviathan shoots Beavs a serious look.
WM: "I told you this is what I needed, man. You're not going to let me down are ya?"
Dustin shakes his head side to side.
DB: "No, of course not, let's do this damn thing."
Monday August 15th, 3:57 pm
Beaver pulls the Escalade into a skinny driveway leading up to a nondescript, quaint looking, small white house. Godnilla is the first one to exit the vehicle, stretching and looking around as he does so. Beavs slowly exits well after Wade, still not wanting to be there.
WM: "This is nice, Dusty! Is this the house you grew up in?!"
Dustin nods slowly.
DB: "Yup this is it, nothing special."
Moor chuckles.
WM: "Still better than where I grew up!"
Beaver looks around, the house and the surroundings are exactly how he remembers them.
WM: "Well let's not waste anymore time, come on."
Beavs slowly makes his way over to where the Leviathan is at and the pair walk up to the front door side by side. After some hesitation, Dustin's finger slowly makes it's way up and presses the doorbell. After a moment, a short, older woman in her 60s answers the door. It doesn't take her long to react as she almost immediately throws her arms around Beaver.
Beaver's Mom: "Dusty! I didn't know you were coming over! Bob, get up, your son is here!"
Some stirring is heard from within the house and after a minute, an older bald man also in his 60s, just slightly taller than the woman and with a round pot belly, joins them at the door.
Beaver's Dad: "Dusty! It's good to see you, boy!"
Beaver's Dad looks over at Wade.
Beaver's Dad: "Who's your friend here?"
Beavs points toward Godnilla.
DB: "Mom, Dad, this is my good friend, Wade, he's a wrestler like me. We're tag team partners now."
Moor smiles and bows slightly.
DB: "Wade, this is my Mom, Henrietta, and my Dad, Bob."
Beaver's Mom and Dad continue to stand there and smile until Beaver's Mom spots something that catches her interest.
Beaver's Mom: "Well isn't he just cute as the dickens, look at that beaut of a beard!"
Wade laughs.
WM: "Well thank you, ma'am, it took me awhile to make my beard this beautiful!"
Beaver's Mom reaches over and begins to touch Moor's beard. The Leviathan laughs as Dustin's face grows red from embarrassment.
DB: "Mom, please! You can't just touch his beard like that without asking!"
Godnilla waves a hand towards Beavs.
WM: "It's fine, Dusty, she just appreciates beautiful things!"
As Beaver's Mom finishes examining Wade's beard, Beaver's Dad waves his hand, motioning the group in.
Beaver's Dad: "Come on in everyone! We can all relax and chat inside."
As the four make their way inside, Dustin and Wade are greeted by a simple entryway leading into a basic living room. The living room has nothing more than a couch, a reclining chair, a coffee table, a lamp and a TV stand with a maybe 32 inch TV sitting on top of it. Beaver's Mom sits in the recliner and the three men sit on the couch with the Beavs in the middle. The four chat for sometime, Dustin remaining the quietest of the group. After what feels to Beavs like forever, his phone vibrates in his pocket as he receives a text. Beaver struggles with his limited room trying to get his phone out of the pocket, eventually getting it. He reads the text:
From: UCI Scheduling
"Your next match is scheduled for Overload on 08/21/2016 live from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Beav-Moor (You and Wade Moor) will be facing the team of The Guardians (Bonnie Blue and Polar Phantasm) for the UCI Tag Team Championship. Good luck in your match!"
Dustin stares wide eyed at the text for a over a minute, trying to process what he has just received. He looks over at Wade, who continues to laugh and talk with Beaver's parents, apparently having a great time. Beavs doesn't want to ruin the moment for Godnilla, so instead of showing him the text now, he decides to do it later when it's more appropriate.
DB: "Excuse me guys, gotta make a quick call, I'll be right back."
The three others laugh about something that Dustin doesn't here.
Beaver's Mom: "Oh alright, just hurry back!"
Dustin slips into his old bedroom as the conversation continues in the living room. He looks around his old room, shaking his head and laughing to himself as he does so.
DB: "Looks exactly the same as when I lived here, even still has the Felix "The Cat" Potvin poster on the wall, crazy."
Before he gets caught up in the nostalgia of his old stomping grounds, Beavs pulls out his cell phone and navigates to the UCI media page. He prepares his phone for live video upload and begins.
DB: "Hey there Beavlievers and UCI Universe, it is your Supreme Beavliever coming at you live from..."
Dustin looks around, soaking in the surroundings one more time.
DB: "My old childhood bedroom. Yes that's right, this normal looking bedroom is where I spent my time, dreaming about becoming something far greater than just a boy playing in his room. These simple beginnings ladies and gentlemen, prove that you can come from anywhere and if you work hard enough, put in the time and effort it takes to make something truly great happen, you can do it."
Beaver looks toward his door as he hears Wade and his parents laughing and continuing their conversation.
DB: "My tag team partner, my brother, Wade Moor, is out there talking to my parents right now. I'm not sure what they're talking about, but I can tell you that Godnilla is having a great time, probably a lot better of a time than he's had in a LONG time."
Beavs laughs.
DB: "Now I'm sure some of the Beavlievers out there are worried about the little argument that the Leviathan and I had at the end of our tag team victory over Erin Fausse and Julian Mercury, but let me put your mind at ease. Dustin Beaver and Wade Moor are united in our determination to become the best tag team wrestling has ever seen."
Dustin chuckles to himself and shakes his head.
DB: "I mean, you can't honestly tell me that there's brothers out there that have NEVER had a disagreement before. Now THAT would be cause for concern, like that would just be...creepy. But all we had was a disagreement on how we finished our opponent. We've already had a chat discussing the matter, and quite frankly I'm glad this happened, because we're now a stronger team than ever before."
Beaver gives the camera an old school Beaver style evil-type smile.
DB: "Watching Wade out there again, being the destructive force that he is well, it was something that I missed. But don't be worried, Beavlievers, Godnilla won't be dialing it back at all, oh no quite the opposite in fact. He's going to turn up that intensity. Now though, he knows how to better channel that power and rage and turn it into something that piles up victories, not bodies."
Beavs points at the camera.
DB: "And there is no better week for Wade and I to combine our efforts as the greatest wrestling tandem the world has ever seen because this week..."
Dustin gets a little choked up as he appears to hold back some emotion.
DB: "This week Beav-Moor will take on The Guardians for the UCI Tag Team Titles!"
The determination in Beaver's eyes is clearly visible as he continues.
DB: "Wade doesn't even know that this is our match yet, but when he does...well, let's just say that you're going to see the best Wade Moor any of us have ever seen."
Beavs holds up two fingers to the camera.
DB: "But let's talk about our opponents for Sunday, Bonnie Blue and Polar Phantasm."
Dustin chuckles and shakes his head.
DB: "There's only one word that I can think of when I think of Bonnie Blue and THE Polar Phantasm and that is "shells". You see, I know about both of their pasts, who they once were. Bonnie Blue, the clone of the great, Johnny Reb. Polar Phantasm, the man that at one point was the mythical, Kid Phantasm. Bonnie Blue, the shell of what was once Johnny Reb. Polar Phantasm, the shell of what was once Kid Phantasm."
Beaver's features turn to stone as he puts his game face on.
DB: "Bonnie Blue is never going to be as good as Johnny Reb was. Polar Phantasm will never touch the heights that Kid Phantasm did. Match after match I'm forced to watch you two attempt to find that greatness that you once possessed. Match after match, I have to watch you two fail at capturing whatever it was that you had back then."
Beavs holds up a finger to the camera.
DB: "Now don't think that I'm underestimating you, I know you both are good, you wouldn't be the current champs if that wasn't true. You're good...but the Great Beaver and the Leviathan, we are GREAT."
Dustin points towards his heart.
DB: "We were great the moment that Wade stepped back into the wrestling ring and told me that I had shown him the light, showed him that we could be the best ever. There is no former Wade Moor, there is no past Dustin Beaver. Individually, we are the same two guys who have wrestled around the world, dominating wherever we go, constantly improving our skills, never regressing. But now that we are Beav-Moor, not only are we still getting better each and every time, we are the team that the people want to see, the team that pushes the envelope, the team that goes out with something to prove EVERY night."
Beaver does a chop motion with his hand across his neck.
DB: "We don't go out there and rest on our previous laurels and accolades to prove to people we are the best. It just isn't our style to live in the past, our positive attitudes make us look to the future. We are always looking towards improving ourselves in positive ways, showing the Beavlievers and the Wadeiacs out there that they can be great at whatever they want to as well, as long as they have the heart and the drive and put in the work it takes to get there."
Beavs once again points at the camera.
DB: "Bonnie, Polar, on Sunday in Kansas City, Wade and I are going to show you what today's best tag team looks like, not year's past best tag team. We're going to earn our victory over you and carry that gold proudly out of the arena, while the Beavlievers and Wadeiacs cheer us on, thinking of goals they can accomplish for themselves after seeing such an incredible moment."
Dustin flashes the familiar white, winning smile that he's known for.
DB: "This will be a monumental win for Beav-Moor and we are going to follow it up with even bigger and better things...you can BEAVLIEVE THAT."
