ACT I: Reflection.
From inside the locker room area the loud crowd could be heard. For good reason considering that UCI’s Lazarus was still very much underway. Whatever match was going on in the ring at that very moment seemed to be engaging the crowd. On the other hand there was someone that had already competed and was no longer focused on wrestling for the night. Instead their focus was on the fifteen pounds of gold that sat in his hands. Less than fifteen minutes ago “The Martyr” himself, Calvin Harris had gone out to the ring to compete against the Rising Stars Champion: Psychopomp and a man by the name of Udy.
Course that Rising Stars Championship just happened to be on the line. Throughout the entire week Calvin had given the warning to the UCI fanbase that he was going to be the one to win the championship. He warned them that at the end of the night he would raise the championship high above his head. As expected though not a single person believed in. The UCI fans couldn’t wrap their minds around the new guy winning a championship in just his second match with the company. Not to mention Calvin had rubbed them the wrong way with the way he carried himself and the things that he let come out of his mouth.
Yet as much as those people didn’t believe it. Calvin proved himself to be a hundred percent right. Without question he dominated the competition. He made Udy look like he didn’t deserve a contract. Then to top it all off, he worked circles around the former champion. Calvin made Psychopomp look as if he should have never been champion in the first place. That was literally just how dominating he was. His eyes were looking down at the championship in his hand. There was a small smirk spread across his lips. Not just that, but his own voice could be heard in his head.
“You did what you always do, Calvin. You proved them wrong.”
That grip on the championship got a little tighter. He picked it up from his lap and brought it closer to his face. His eyes locked on the name plate of the best that had already been changed to his own.
“For the last year, you have been chasing to have glory again. You have set out to prove that your days in the wrestling business aren’t over. You’ve been chasing to prove that you’ve still got a lot left to give. You have been out to prove that you still have it in you to reach the top of any mountain at any given time.”
His voice continued to ring in his head. All of what he told himself made perfect sense. No one else knew it but the moment that he lost the Titan’s of the Midway Championship when he worked for the now defunct company Pure Amusement Wrestling. He had been working his hardest to bounce back from that. He had been working his hardest to achieve glory once again. Not that it made or defined him, but there was part of him that knew if he couldn’t reach glory again. Then there was a good chance that he wasn’t the wrestler he once was.
“This might not be the ultimate prize. This might not be the UCI Heavyweight Champion. This might not make you the King of the Mountain right this second. But this is a stepping stone. It is a step in the right direction. This title is in the name itself. You are a rising star on the UCI roster. I am on the rise and it is only going to be a matter of time until I rise above everyone else. Only a matter of time until I run through everyone else. Only a matter of time until I trade this in for the UCI Heavyweight Championship.”
Standing up from where he had been seated in that steel chair of his locker room. Taking a couple of steps over to where his open suitcase was sitting. Letting the championship drop from his hands and into the bag.
“In time United Championship Infinite will recognize you as the single greatest talent that has ever come through those doors. They won’t admit it now. They won’t admit it tomorrow. They won’t even admit it next week, but in time their hands will be tied behind their backs and they will have no choice but to give me credit where credit is due as the single greatest talent to ever grace this company.”
Even the voice within his head was very ego filled. Not like it was realistic for anyone to hear that voice within his head, but this was a good indication that the whole ego that had rubbed people the wrong way wasn’t an act by any means. It was very legitimate. Calvin just happened to believe that deep down within himself that he was that good. He believed deep down within himself that no one else could ever hold a candle to him in the ring. Calvin truly believed that it was only a matter of time until he took over as the single greatest star of UCI. Granted there were going to be plenty of people that disagreed. There would be plenty of people that attempted to stop it, but the question at hand was would they be able to? At this point only time would tell.
ACT II: Life Changes.
Alessandra Harris paced the door, her lips pressed tightly together. A hand rested on her protruding baby bump, a pair of maternal pants with an elastic band hugging the pants comfortably to her small, round body and a Sailor Moon shirt with a cutout of the neckline done so it exposed one of her tattooed shoulders baring just a few minor inches of pale skin of her stomach. Her blonde hair's tips had been changed to a smoky, seductive red, pulled into a high ponytail and a pair of glasses were perched on the bridge of her nose.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS Where is the mail? It should've been here by now!
It was weird the way that time passed. It felt like it was both simultaneously yesterday and ages ago that the home interviewer had come in to inspect the home that the former Nova Wonder shared with her husband and her child and child on the way. It was an expensive, time-consuming process for Calvin to officially, legally adopt her daughter, Vanellope Pluto; to legally change her name and eliminate the title of "step" that would precede the word daughter. She felt like a child, waiting for someone or something to arrive at her doorstep. Stamping her bare feet to the ground slightly, she pressed her hands to the window, and then her forehead, looking outside the window at a gloomy, gray Seattle sky as the familiar rain drizzled from the clouds to the ground.
CALVIN HARRIS: Do me a favor and calm down for a second?
Hearing her huff and puff brought his attention away from the video game that he was playing on the living room TV just a few inches from her. He did look a bit ridiculous with the large headphones on. The microphone hanging to the right towards his mouth. His large hand clutching the controller that looked rather small in his hands. He watched as she shot a nasty glare back at him over his comment before turning her attention back to the window. Sighing some, he placed the controller down.
CALVIN HARRIS: It’s raining out there. Has been on and off, you know that the mail is always a little late on days like this.
Placing the headphones next to the controller on the couch. Calvin had stood himself up and took those couple of steps towards her. His hands and arms slipping around the pregnant waist of his wife. Letting his hands rest gently against her stomach. He let his lips press against the back of her neck softly. Before moving them to her ear and spoke softly.
CALVIN HARRIS: You know everything is fine babe. We nailed that interview. There’s no chance that they deny the adoption.
Normally they were both negative people. They could assume the worst sometimes. Wasn’t the best way to carry themselves at all, but at the same time Calvin had worked on his mindset with life. That all came with being married with a child on the way and another child he claimed to be his own. He couldn’t be negative all the time. There had to be one positive person in that household and he was willing to be that person for the sake of his family.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS I am not patient...
She huffed, fixing some of her trademark, perpetually multi-colored hair by slicking a piece behind her ear with her tattooed fingers. She then gently eased those hands from his elbows, down his forearms, to over his hands while she glanced out the window at the dreary landscape.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS I just wish there was some kind of rubric of what the interviewer was looking for. Were we being too fake? Or were we being too real? You and I aren't The Beave's family, you know? And, to any stuffed-shirt suit... we could be mistaken for hoodlums.
She laughed a little bit, shaking her head. Those weren't words she could have ever imagined coming out of her mouth, but then again, this time last year... the year before... any other time? She could have never seen herself being married to anyone at all; let alone someone who was in her life, then out of it for years, before just stumbling right back into it and her house at the same time.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS I get it, I sound like a grandma. And that's beyond the point. To courts... and me, with my record and arrests and everything... I could see how they wouldn't think I'd make a good choice, regardless of being sober for years now. I just don't want them to think that we were being anything but genuine in our love for the sleeping princess in there.
She gestured over her shoulder with a head toss, before turning her gaze to the floor.
CALVIN HARRIS: Trust me love. I get it. I really do.
Nodding his head a little bit. That being said though he grabbed a hold of arm and made her turn away from the window to face him. His eyes settling on hers, while he looked down at the shorter woman.
CALVIN HARRIS: You’ve made mistakes in your life. I’ve made mistakes in my life. We’ve made mistakes together. We’ve made mistakes separately, but that doesn’t mean we have to suffer for it for the rest of our life. No, we aren’t the Beaver’s family. We’re not the Tanner family. But boy do I wish, I had hair like Uncle Jesse.
For that brief moment he found himself trailing off with his train of thought. Although with a snap of Alessandra’s finger did bring him back reality. A small smirk spread on his lips.
CALVIN HARRIS: Point is although we made mistakes and although we are not the perfect American family. We’re as real as it gets. We weren’t fake and I would rather have been too real, than to be fake. You and I are too very over opinionated people. There’s a reason we used to clash all the time. So, I look at it like this. If she was upset that we were too real, than she can suck a dick.
By the facial expressions that Alessandra was giving. He could tell that she wasn’t too pleased with his wording. After all this entire thing was based on their future as a family. To some it could come off like it wasn’t as important to him as it was to her. To some it might have appeared as if he didn’t care but that couldn’t have been any further from the truth.
CALVIN HARRIS: But regardless of if we were too real for her or not. The one thing that cannot be denied is the love that we have for that little girl. You realized what was important when you found out you were pregnant with VP. You did everything you could to protect her. You changed your lifestyle. She became your life. No one can deny that you love her. And as far as I go? Little over a year ago. I would have said I would never be a father. After losing my child with Chasity, I felt like that window closed. I was prepared to live life along. Yet the day I met VP everything changed. I’ve got all the love in the world for you. That’s why I made you my wife, but the love I have for her. Can’t even be put into words. I’d take a bullet for her without a second thought. She is my world. That much was made clear, so if the court decides that I can’t adopt her. Than all they’re doing is hurting a little girl and robbing her of a chance to call someone Daddy. Which if they hurt her, then I’m prepared to hurt them.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS I'm just glad you didn't tell the interviewer to suck a dick...
She shook her head playfully, her hand resting on her growing belly as she pulled away from the window. It was very much so like watching a boiling pot of water; watching it made it feel like it would just take that much longer and overall, time wouldn't change. The best she could do would be to wait for a distraction before she drove herself into a panic over waiting for the mail truck to come up to her driveway, and the mailman to slide her mail in through the golden slot in the door. She smiled, hearing little paws trailing behind her. Grabbing the small, black mutt he'd brought home a few weeks ago, she eased onto the couch, placing her swollen feet onto the coffee table while she ruffled the black curls in the dog's fur before being joined by the black and white Boston Terrier, Biggie Smalls at her side.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS It always feels like it takes... 'forever'... when you're waiting for something important, doesn't it Jesse?
She could see the smile on his face turn up when she gave the word a melodic tone, a small play on Jesse and the Rippers. In the past - a very distant past - she called him Uncle Jesse and she was Aunt Becky. Those times were good and bad, but they built the foundation for where they were now. She fondly thought back on them.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS I just want to know if we've been wasting our time or if we need to go buy her a nice dress for her adoption ceremony.
CALVIN HARRIS: I wouldn’t say something like this would have ever been a waste of our time...
Before anything else could be heard from his mouth. A small “clang” sound could be heard from behind him. Calvin peered over his shoulder to see one single letter lying on the floor after being pushed through the mail slot of their front door. Looking back at her.
CALVIN HARRIS: I suppose we’re about to find out.
His facial features had lit up for that moment. He turned to walk towards the front door and scooped the letter up off the floor. Taking it into his hand and flipping it over to see the front. “To: Calvin and Alessandra” was billed right on the front of it. It was a red flag where it had come from when the court’s name and logo was on the upper left corner. He took a deep breath in before turning back around to bring the letter to Alessandra. Extending it her direction.
CALVIN HARRIS: I’ll let you hold my future in your hands...
ALESSANDRA HARRIS Me?!
She pointed to his name with a finger, almost aggressively.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS You have top billing! ... Fine.
She peeled at the adhesive of the envelope, easing the triangle-flap up and removing the letter within it. Setting the envelope to the side, she unfolded the trifold letter and began to scan over the letters, sighing softly when she finished reading over a few lines, lowering her head.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS Calvin...
She sniffled, her hand trembling to hand the letter to him.
ALESSANDRA HARRIS We've got court in a week to sign papers...
A small grin took over her face the moment after he took the letter from her hands and began to read the letter. His eyes had scanned over the letter briefly. Kind of zoning her out as far as what she was saying. His focus was on one thing. All he wanted to do was see the word “approved” on that letter. Right towards the end of said letter the following statement was there: “The court of Seattle deems you a suitable father figure for Vanellope Pluto. Therefore we approve you for adoption.” As soon as he read that final sentence. He let out a sigh of relief. Everything that they had been going through as of late was all worth it in that moment. Looking up from the letter.
CALVIN HARRIS: Well get me a freaking pen woman!
Such a bright smile was spread across his lips. All he could do was keep focusing on that sentence of the letter. At twenty eight years old. Calvin was a married man. He was an expecting father and now he was going to be an official father of two. Everything that he had ever missed out on as a kid when it came to an having a complete and whole family had come full circle. All he ever wanted he was going to have and there was no one that could take that away from him.
ACT III: The Opportunity.
Forty eight hours from now United Championship Infinite were going to find themselves traveling to Rosemont, Illinois and taking over the Allstate Arena. Quite a perfect choice to bring the company to such an arena. The Rosemont/Chicago area were quite frankly some of the rowdiest wrestling fans around. It was almost a guarantee that the crowd was going to participate all night long in one capacity or the other to enjoy themselves which in return was going to make an overall better show. That being said though with forty eight hours till show time. There was a camera crew on hand and the scene just happened to be opening up at that very moment.
Cameras found themselves focused on a figure that was looking up at the Allstate Arena. The arena was lit up with lights and there was a big banner that draped over the doors that read “UCI Presents: Overload this Monday Night.” So it wasn’t like people didn’t know that the company was coming in to town. Though the figure that was standing there just happened to be more of the focus than the actual building itself. For good reason because it was at that moment the person turned themselves around. In doing so they revealed themselves to be “The Martyr” Calvin Harris. There was a small smirk spread across the man’s lips. He let his eyes zero in on the lense before beginning to speak up.
CALVIN HARRIS: The Allstate Arena. Right here in Rosemont, Illinois. Forty five minutes away from my home city of Chicago, Illinois. You know it’s crazy that I have been wrestling since I was sixteen years old. I’ve been wrestling for twelve years and the Allstate Arena was the very first major arenas I ever competed in. I remember it took place just a couple months of me being part of the World Elite Wrestling roster. It felt good to return home. It felt good to be competing in front of my friends and family. It felt amazing to be able to say that a kid from Chicago had made it.
Those few words that fell from his lips were setting the scenery or so it seemed. It was very warming and gave a small insight to Calvin’s life considering that not too many people in UCI knew much about him.
CALVIN HARRIS: Over the years I have competed in this same arena many different times, but nothing will ever compare to the very first time. However I can say that this time is unlike any other time I have competed in this arena. It’s different because I’m not actually excited to compete so close to home. I’m not even excited to return to the state of Illinois in general. I have sent no invites to friends or family to come out to see me wrestle. In fact if I had my way about things. I would never return to this hell-hole, because it reminds me too much of what my life once was and I want nothing. I mean absolutely nothing to do with my previous life.
Just like that Calvin had flipped the script. While it seemed like there was going to be a positive outlook on things, it was very quickly turned into the negative mindset that Calvin had become known for carrying himself with.
CALVIN HARRIS: In this case though, I don’t have a choice. I don’t have the opportunity to say fuck it and not be here. Not to mention the situation I find myself in is a little bit more important than me just not being here. You see the opportunity I have been presented with is to be in the ring with Damian Kaine and the Intercontinental Champion: Casey Holiday. For the first time since I have come to this company. UCI has finally put me in a position where it is actually worth my time. They have presented me with a match where it is worth me showing up and competing. But the question so many of you mediocre people have on your mind is, how is it worth it? Because to you, you don’t see anything on the line. My title isn’t up for grabs. Casey isn’t being forced to defend her Intercontinental Championship. She’s not even being forced to defend her Golden Ticket opportunity she just won a few months ago. So, how is it worth?
The tone of voice he was using made him sound like he was being very-very sarcastic. Almost like he was mocking people and mocking them for the question that he was sure all of them were asking themselves. It had became known in the few weeks of him being on the roster that there wasn’t a lot of respect on his end for the fans.
CALVIN HARRIS: Don’t get me wrong, I am a man that’s all about achieving championships. I’m all about accomplishing many accolades. I am all about being draped in gold. That’s who I am and that’s what makes you one of the best, but this time out. I can see the bigger picture. Something that you sad pathetic people cannot see. Truth be told I could care less about being in the ring with Damian Kaine. He isn’t something that is worth my time or my focus. I don’t give a shit about him or the so called the Guardians that he rolls with. But instead my focus is on Casey Holiday. My focus is on the person that everyone would consider the top dog to this match. Now don’t let that go to your head, Casey. Don’t take that as me giving you too much credit. In fact with me making you my target and with me making you my focus that does nothing, but spell very-very bad news for you. Because all that means is throughout the entire match I am going to be aiming to knock you the fuck out.
Sure enough with those words the tone of his voice became more aggressive. In becoming more aggressive it really put emphasis on what he had just said making it known that the man meant serious business..
CALVIN HARRIS: I’ve got this hunch that going into this match that you’re not going to give me the proper respect that I deserve. Something tells me that you’re going to go into this match without doing your homework. By that I mean you’re not going to check into my history. You’re not going to see what I have accomplished. You’re not going to know what I am capable and because of that alone. Just because you don’t know what I am capable of is going to put you in a very-very bad position. You probably already think that I am just some kid that got lucky his second match with the company. You probably already think that I’ve got a long way to go before I am ever consider a true threat to this company. You probably have this mindset that you’re the biggest and the baddest bitch in this match, which is foolishly going to make you think that it is a matter of you’ve already got it won. Trust me when I tell you Casey, if that’s truly what you’re thinking. Then you’re one of the most retarded human beings I have ever come in contact with.
Keeping those serious set of eyes locked on the cameras before him. He wanted to make sure that every word that came out of his mouth was driven home.
CALVIN HARRIS: See that’s the problem with people that believe their own hype. It creates this ego about them and then in return makes them think that they’re untouchable. You think that you’re a big deal because you won the Golden Ticket? Name one person in that match that was actually worth a damn. Name one person in that match that was actually going to give you a run for your money. Name one person that was actually on your level in that match. Because I am willing to bet that you can’t do that. You see just because a company set you up to succeed doesn’t mean that you’re one of the best. All it means is the company through you a bone and they likely through you a bone, because they got sick and tired of your bitching, moaning, and complaining. But maybe this big bad bitch mentality isn’t coming from the Golden Ticket situation. Maybe it’s coming from the fact that you won the Intercontinental Championship.
For a very brief moment Calvin had paused and seemingly let it all sink in. He was seemingly letting it be known where this was going to be headed next.
CALVIN HARRIS: Do you think you’re a big deal because you hold that championship? Or is it that you think you’re a big deal all because you defeated Andre Holmes? It seems that everyone around here sucks his dick like he’s the best thing since sliced bread. So, you think you’re a hot shot because you’re one of the few that’s beaten him? Let me tell you something Casey, I don’t give a shit if you beat Andre Holmes. That doesn’t make you impressive in my book. Hell, if I am being even more honest than that. I don’t give a shit about Andre Holmes either. As far as I’m concerned he’s nothing special in my book. And on top of that Casey, how do you not that defeat really means anything? What if it was nothing more than beginner's luck? Hmmm, what if on one night you got lucky. See this is what I am getting at. This ego of yours is making you assume things and making you think that you’re better than what you really are. But have no fear child in just two days I get shatter that ego like a brick going through glass.
His sinister little grin began to grow a little more across his lips. In the back of his mind he knew that every word that he was letting come out of his mouth at that moment was going to have Casey triggered. It was going to have her upset and it was going to make her come guns blazing for their match. Truth be told that’s what he wanted.
CALVIN HARRIS: It is time that someone takes you behind the shed and puts you out of your fucking misery. No one else has seemingly done so yet. No one else has had the balls to do so. Hell, even the great and powerful Andre Holmes couldn’t do so. Dude dropped the ball and in him dropping the ball has created this egotistical monster that is you, Casey. But you see I don’t have a problem being the bad guy. I don’t have a problem being the one that shatters egos. I don’t have a problem being the one that breaks people down. I’ve got no problem at all putting you in your place, which is exactly what you need more than anything else. Think about it Casey, what are you going to say when you get your ass handed to you on a silver platter by me? How are you going to recover after being defeated by a so called “rookie” or a so called “nobody” on the roster? How do you even begin to justify that to everyone else that you've been barking at like you’re the baddest dog in the yard? Cause as far as I am concerned, you can’t justify that. As far as I am concerned you don’t bounce back from. As far as I am concerned if I do everything that I intend to do, then that’s slowly going to be the end of your career.
More of that arrogance poured out of the man with each word that he was letting come out of his mouth. After all it was a given that he was aiming to get under her skin and piss her off to the max.
CALVIN HARRIS: Of course by the time that you hear all of this Casey, you’re going to devise a different game plan. A game plan that doesn’t involve you coming directly at me. Instead it’ll be a game plan where you are going to pick and choose moments in the match to go after me. Moments where my back is turned. Moments where my attention is on Damian. Moments where I’m going to have the match won and then you’ll insert yourself to try to fuck me over. Not to mention, your plan will shift as far as who you intend on defeating in the match. You’re not going to attempt to pin my shoulders to the match. Oh no. You’re not going to try and get me to tap out. Nah, not at all. I already know by the time you hear all of this it’ll turn you into a coward. Which means that you’re going to look for any opportunity that you can to take advantage of the match and to defeat Damian. You’re not going to try and beat the challenge to you. Instead you would rather cut a corner and take the easy way out. But at the same time Casey, I already know that’s going to be your plan. Which means that I’m going to see to it that you are never presented with that opportunity. Instead from the time the bell rings to start the match, until the bell rings a second time calling the match to an end. I am going to beat the living piss out of you and show you that you are fucking worthless. No shortcuts, no cheating, no underhanded tactics. It’s just going to be a night where you get exactly what’s coming to you.
His eyes had a certain fire about them as they remained there on the lense of the camera. Calvin was a man that wasn’t going to back down from whatever he believed in. After all that was “the martyr” in him. He stood up for what he believed in and he was willing to die for it, if that’s what it came down to.
CALVIN HARRIS: Come Overload, Casey. You’re going to learn to very-very valuable lessons. Two lessons that will follow you for the rest of your life. Lesson number one will be you learning that you are not as good as you claim. You will understand that for the most part you’re nothing more than hot air. You will have your eyes opened and be forced to see that you’re just average at best. And then lesson number two is going to be you coming to realize that I, Calvin Harris is simply BETTER than you!
There was that signature tagline of his. One that people hated, but the one that too many people had become used to. With that being said the cameras found themselves zooming in a little closer on the facial expression of Calvin. Leading to the man speaking up again, but it would be his final words this time out.
CALVIN HARRIS: To borrow your phrase, hate on that bitch!
That smirk on Calvin’s lips said it all. Without a doubt the man truly believed that in two days when they met with each other in the middle of the ring that he was going to expose that woman in the worst possible ways. Easily the argument could be made that it was his own ego that made him think this. The same thing that he was saying about Casey, but at the same exact time. The only thing that was a hundred percent certain was that the two of them would meet and their egos would clash. One of them were going to have to come out with the victory in the end. On that note Calvin turned himself back around to face the Allstate Arena leading to the cameras fading to black.
ACT IV: Laughing Stock.
The night had finally arrived. Overload was going to take over Rosemont, Illinois and it would be a night that no one was going to want to miss out on. In the parking lot of the arena a ford Mustang. It was jet black with chromed out rims. Pulling into the nearest parking space as the car came to a stop. The driver’s side door opened up as a pair of dress shoes hit the concrete pavement, but it was a few seconds later that the tall figure stepped out of the car. That tall figure being the man himself, Calvin Harris. He was rocking a pair of sunglasses as he looked around the parking lot a little while adjusting his suit jacket. Hitting a button to his car keys while shutting the door.
That button he hit just happened to go to the trunk of the car. Making his way around the car, Calvin reached inside and yanked out the suitcase that was stuffed in the back. Placing the suitcase against the concrete floor while reaching up to shut the door. Calvin turned around with all the intentions of yanking up the handle to his suitcase to make his way inside the Allstate Arena, but it didn’t go as planned. Reason for this had everything to do with the fact that Calvin found himself standing there face to face with a camera crew. Not only that but he found himself standing face to face with a female that had a microphone in his hand. That expression on Calvin’s face said it all. He didn’t look too pleased with being bothered.
CALVIN HARRIS: Can I fucking help you with something?
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Woah, calm down there Mr. Harris. No need to be so hostile.
CALVIN HARRIS: No need to be hostile, but y’all creep up on me like Anabell the fucking doll and don’t say anything? Y’all must got a reason for being here. Otherwise get out of my way.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Of course there’s a reason. After all I am holding a microphone in my hand.
CALVIN HARRIS: Look bitch, don’t get smart with me. I’ll knock those teeth right on out of your mouth.
Although, she couldn’t see it. Behind those shades Calvin had narrowed his eyes quite a bit. He didn’t enjoy when someone was being smart with him. Not to mention he believed he could bully his way into getting his way. In this case that was the truth.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: I didn’t mean to be rude or to cause an issue with you. My apologies Mr. Harris, but with that being said. I was asked by the man in charge if I could get an interview with you.
CALVIN HARRIS: And you just thought that I was willing to give you that interview? You thought I was going to waste precious moments of my time - of my day and just give you what you wanted?
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: I was sure hoping so. I didn’t intend to take up too much of your time. This wasn’t going to be a very long interview.
CALVIN HARRIS: You know how many times I’ve heard that before?
That being said Calvin shook his head from side to side a bit. He reached up and removed the sunglasses from his face folding them up before placing them in the pocket of his suit jacket.
CALVIN HARRIS: You better be true to your word and make this quick, because I’ve got no problem cutting an interview short myself.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Fair enough.
CALVIN HARRIS: Well go on with it, no need to be wasting precious time with small talk.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Uh... right! Well, the first question I have to ask is this. Tonight, Overload is going to be in Rosemont, Illinois at the Allstate Arena. We are only about a half hour away from your hometown of Chicago. The place where it all began for you. What’s it like to be returning home? What’s it like to know that you’re going to be having so many people that watched you begin your career just a few minutes away watch you right here tonight?
CALVIN HARRIS: Obviously, you don’t pay attention to things that are already common knowledge. That or you don’t do the homework that’s needed to be done before you start asking questions.
Once again he shook his head in pure disappointment.
CALVIN HARRIS: Yes, it’s true I grew up a few minutes away. Chicago is where I got my start. In a sense this is my return home after a very extended absence, but at the same time it isn’t like it’s the first time I’ve ever competed in the Allstate Arena. It isn’t the first time I’ve ever competed in front of people that watched me grow up in this business. I’ve done it plenty of times before, but at the same time. Tonight, I don’t give a fuck that it’s close to home. I don’t give a shit if people are going to come watch me wrestle. I honestly don’t give a shit about Chicago or Rosemont. This isn’t a homecoming for me. I’m simply here to wrestle and then I’m taking the first flight home..
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Wow, that’s a surprise. First time I have ever spoken to someone that’s not excited to be competing in their hometown.
CALVIN HARRIS: Get used to it there toots. I’m full of surprises.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: I guess I need to prepare myself for that then, but with that being said. You do find yourself pretty high on the card here tonight. You’re going to be in the co-main event...
CALVIN HARRIS: Let me go ahead and stop you right there for a second. Stop, calling it a co-main event. This company is trying to sell this match like it’s something spectacular and trying to make it seem like it’s just as important as the main event. If this match was that important, then we would be the main event. That’s just the company’s way of trying to say that the match is good, but isn’t good enough to be in the main event. Don’t patronize me, cocksuckers. I’m not one to fall for it.
A small amount of rage was hinted in Calvin’s voice when those words come out of his mouth. Really made it seem like the man had taken true offense to being booked in a match called the “co-main event” of the show. Then again people didn’t have the same mindset of Calvin which meant no one would really understand that rage.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Okay, well either way you look at it. Tonight, you’re involved in a pretty big matchup. You’ll be taking on the Intercontinental and Golden Ticket Winner: Casey Holiday and one of the Guardians: Damian Kaine. Got yourself a pretty big triple threat match to say the least.
CALVIN HARRIS: And what makes it big? Hmmm?
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Well by who you are up against of course. Casey Holiday is red hot right now. She’s seemed almost unstoppable as of late.
CALVIN HARRIS: Yet, that’s meant to impress me? Well, it doesn’t. I am not going to spend too much of my time speaking about Casey, if you want to hear all of my feelings for the girl. Then I highly suggest that you find the video that was leaked a few days online where I put it all out in the open. But all you really need to know is Casey might seem unstoppable right now, but she isn’t. That ego that she is carrying herself with is about to fail her in the worst way tonight. A few hours from now you’re going to see the return of “Crying Casey” as she lays in a fetal position in the middle of that ring bawling her eyes out after I embarrass the hell right out of her.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Not so sure that Casey is going to share the same view you do when it comes to that situation. In fact there’s a pretty good chance she’s going to be livid over those comments.
CALVIN HARRIS: Oh well, she can be mad in the same pants she got glad in. Bitch is worthless in my opinion and tonight she’s going to find out where her true place is.
There was a very small shrug of Calvin’s shoulders in that particular moment. That let it be known just how much he didn’t truly care about the Intercontinental Champion. While at the same time adding fuel to what was already becoming a fire.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Okay then, but that does leave Damian Kaine. He is one of the Guardians which is one of the feared groups of UCI. Not to mention he is a former Television Champion and finished in the top fifteen of our big over the top battle royal a few months ago.
CALVIN HARRIS: Boy, I sure hope that they are paying you extra.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Huh?
CALVIN HARRIS: I sure hope the company is paying you extra for your sell-job. You’re out here trying to sell both Casey Holiday and Damian Kaine real hard. Kind of like your job depends on it
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: No, I am just doing my job.
CALVIN HARRIS: Uh huh sure sweetheart.
In a very sarcastic tone, Calvin brought his hand up to form an “okay” gesture with his fingers. Course the woman didn’t look too pleased with him for implying anything else. Then again at this point it was clear he didn’t give a damn.
CALVIN HARRIS: Look, let me put it like this. I had been avoiding having anything to say about Damian. Not because I fear him or anything like that, but because I didn’t feel like I needed to waste my time on someone that I consider a laughing stock. Yes, that’s right you heard me. I am calling him a laughing stock.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Really? A laughing stock? How can you call him such a thing?
CALVIN HARRIS: Very simple. I just did. You see Damian from what I know was someone that was basically non-existent for quite sometime. Then all of the sudden he popped up... I guess he used to be a bigger deal back in the day. I don’t know, nor do I care. But the point is he suddenly showed back up. Had an impressive showing in a battle royal... Big fucking deal. You tossed a couple people over the top rope. Suddenly that’s meant to make me consider you to be a legend or some shit? Get the fuck out of here. And yeah, he held the UCI Television Championship, but that title reign ended almost as quick as it begun. You are trying to sell him to me real hard, but nothing that I see is impressing me. Nothing I see is making me see the man as anything special between the ropes.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: But that doesn’t qualify him to be a laughing stock? He’s done more than some people have...
CALVIN HARRIS: Oh? Excuse me for selling him too short. Saying that he’s done more than some of the roster is like saying he’s the most intelligent special needs kid in his special needs class? Or saying that’s he’s the best athlete at the special olympics? At the end of the day Damian Kaine is still worthless. Actually far more worthless than Casey Holiday is. Not that it comes to a surprise, but you know I’ll tell you the thing that made him a laughing stock. That’s when he decided to jump on board and become one of the Guardians. The cocksucker decided to become part of something that was red hot and getting attention. He just jumped on the bandwagon, kind of like every other Golden State Warriors fan that exists now days. Damian couldn’t make it on his own, so he attached himself to what was getting credit and what was becoming a thing. All so he could get a free ride to the top. Only difference is attaching himself to the Guardians did nothing for him, because he isn’t as talented as the others. Nothing changed he continued to be worthless. He continued to lose. He continued to be laughed at, much like I am going to laugh at him at the end of the night when he realizes that he just wasn’t good enough to stand his own in the ring with a God like myself.
Calvin had made sure he was glaring right at the cameras when he let those words fall from his lips. So much rage and so much anger had come out him just like that. Truly appeared as if he quite the problem with Damian Kaine and he didn’t have an issue with letting it be known he had a problem with him. Again, Calvin truly seemed to just adding fuel to the fire. The three of them were going to explode when they met each other.
UCI EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWER: Guess it is all a matter of opinion, but if you don’t mind I do have one more question for you...
CALVIN HARRIS: Nah, I do mind and this interview is fucking over.
Not another word fell from his lips, Calvin pushed his way right on past the woman and past the men holding the cameras. Course they all turned to get a glimpse of him walking inside the Allstate Arena. He yanked those doors open and went right on inside with the door slamming shut behind him. After everything that had come out of Calvin’s mouth. The mood was set and it was a given that these three were going to butt heads when they met in the middle of the ring. In fact there was a good chance that the ring wasn’t going to be able to continue either one of them. However at the end of the night one of them was going to have to have their hand raised in victory.
