Well, the obvious to start things off: it's been a blast. And no, this isn't some sad farewell post before that thought crosses minds. I'm not going anywhere.
Beyond and the Golden Ticket series of RP's I just finished today had me putting a heck of a lot of things into perspective. And the gist of that perspective?
UCI more or less saved Casey's career. I originally came here in December to join my friends Omar (Celeste Mallory) and Randy (Abigail Lindsay), not expecting too much too soon. The fact that I'm still here even though they're on LOA/hiatus should give a very positive testament to this fed. I won't get deep into it, because I don't want to cross any public fed bashing lines, especially since the owner and I are very much on good terms still, but those that have read Casey's RP's on the regular pretty much know the gist of the struggles I had with her in her previous fed. Those that don't... to make a long story short, it was stressful as all hell trying to make her work as a character there. I felt like there was some standard there that I was expected to meet, that I just never could. It felt like no matter what I wrote with Casey, it never seemed like it was good enough. I was literally stressed sick twice while I had her there. So, I left. I brought her to UCI, and well, the rest is history.
I admit that at first, my confidence issues with her were there. Even when Casey first won the Rising Stars title, I was hesitant to come around on that confidence. But, the turning point came at Watch the Throne. It was Casey's first Rising Stars defense against Ojeda. Until now, nobody knew this, but I did struggle to come up with a story idea for that defense. It was literally the night before deadline when I had something. Casey's first successful title defense was that turning point, and the confidence has only grown from there. There's been some solid support around these parts despite the fact that I'm not the most socially active person here and those that have been supportive deserve some serious thanks.
I've finally tied up the loose ends from the past that I wanted to. It'll be a ride figuring out something new from a story perspective since I'm planning on progressing forward and slowly phasing out the mentions of her last fed from this point forward. Not doubting I'll come up with something. I feel like Casey has tons of untapped potential waiting to be discovered, and well, I'll say this... there are some pretty cool things coming up that are going to surface in UCI pretty soon
But all in all, my sincere thanks for the support, and for saving Casey's career and anything that's ever helped me overcome the previous confidence issues I had before. Golden Ticket win or not, things are definitely taking off.
