1. Hellraiser, the original, scares the shit out of me just thinking about it to this day. lol
2. Halloween, Carpenter’s original, true story: I was watching that on the HBO one night while watching my grandfather's house on a dark but not stormy night, when Michael Myers attacked Jamie Lee Curtis in the closet scene, a possum, yes an opossum, ran out from under a lounge chair that I was sitting in at the same time that Michael Myers' arm crashed through the closest door slats. (Stop laughing you. . .holes) lol
3. JAWS, the music, the carcharodon carcharias, Chief Brody saying, "We're need a bigger boat.", enough said!

You know what got me?
The Haunting ... with Liam Neeson, Owen Wilson, Catherine Zeta-Jones... Of course, I made the mistake of watching it at like 3 in the morning with all the lights off.
Another one that's worth watching is Woman in Black.

All my favorite horror movies are shit. I don't tend to like good ones. I like awful ones. Every Nightmare on Elm Street (except New Nightmare. Fuck that boring piece of self important dreck.) I like Texas Chainsaw 2 WAY better than the first one. My favorite has to be Evil Dead II though. I have a hard time really calling it a horror movie because it's so intentionally funny, but I'm counting it anyway.
Edit: Oh! And while I don't count them as horror because they're way too comedic, I feel the need to put in good words for both Tucker and Dale Versus Evil, and Club Dread. Two of my absolute favorite horror comedies.

Scream (1 and 2) and the entire Final Destination series.
Scream 3 & 4 aren't as bad as most people make it out to be, but they still don't match up to the quality of the first 2. And can we get FD 6 already? It's been a while lol.
