Last movie I watched was Captain America: Civil War. Went and saw it again yesterday, because it's fucking great. If you haven't seen it, go see it. If you're not a Marvel fan, go see it anyway. Even if you're not into superheroes or comic books, or even movies in general, just... just go see this movie. Really.

They blew their load on the twist too early though, IMO Yeah, I had my problems with it (too tired to go into detail, maybe if I start that movie podcast somefuckingday haha), but I was amused by the writing, and as a goosebumps fan, there was enough to make me smirk, plus Jack BLack clearly had fun with the role haha.

Technically the last movie I watched was The Exorcist, but I really want to talk about the movie I saw just before it, Welcome to Leith.
"Welcome to Leith" is a documentary made in collaboration with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) about a white supremacist, Craig Cobb, who attempted to buy up property in the rural town of Leith, North Dakota (Population of 20). His plans were to eventually move in enough Neo-Nazis to outnumber the original residents, gain political control, and rename the town "Cobbsville" as part of a scheme to set up an all-white city which could legalize discrimination and run itself based on the credo of the Creativity Movement, an even more radical off-shoot of National Socialism which advocates genocide and repopulation of an Aryan civilization across the globe. The documentary interviews everyone involved, from Cobb himself to the residents of the city, and details how the town fought back to eventually drive this attempted Neo-Nazi coup out.
And this wasn't a thing that happened a long time ago. This whole thing was in 2012.
Incredibly upsetting movie to watch that gives an amazing insight into a part of American society most of us choose to not acknowledge. Not the most gripping or dramatic (the battles are almost entirely political and the movie doesn't milk cheap shock or tension) but important and compelling for those interested.

Once again Ian McKellen proves he's one of the all time greatest!

Currently watching Cube (1997) (dir. Vincenzo Natali)
Have already seen it, a lot smarter of a film than I thought it would be when I first watched it, and while not perfect, its definitely got a lot of great mechanics and they manage to get a lot of out such minimalist means. Really awesome in the ways of indie-horror-sci fi. 7/10
Edit: The script is kinda...painfully independent film-ish.
